Not Windows 7 compatible
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Even though Cannon claims that this scanner is Windows 7 compatible it is not. The drivers that came with the scanner are not compatible. I even went to the Cannon website to download the Windows 7 driver and the website said it was not available. This was my experience yours might be different. I sent it back.

Awesome!

This scanner is really easy to use, handy and giving high quality scans in a short time. The only problem I had was to make it working with Windows 7.

Great Scanner
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This will be short and to the point. I have owned MANY scanners over the years, this is by far the best. It is fast, aesthetically pleasing, great color and software. I have never bought a Canon scanner before, now that is what I will stick with.

Fast, easy and ready to go!

Out of the box, plugged in and scanning within 30 minutes. I generally hate scanners because they are so temperamental – this one just works and works well.

Excellent Scanner for the Price!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I just needed a simple scanner for documents and didn’t want to pay a lot of money. After reading the reviews, I decided to order. It is very simple to use and very easy to set up. I’m using it on an iMac PC and the software works great.

The buttons on the front of the scanner make it even easier. Just push copy, scan, PDF or email buttons and it automatically scans. Of course, you can manually set up your scan also. For this price range, it is a fast scanner of documents. I haven’t tried photos yet. Basically a great scanner for the price!!

Pretty good and easy to use
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I wish it could scan faster but it is faster than any other ones I’ve owned before. It’s easy to get it up and running, although trying to setup/change/re-arrange the pre-setting options can take a little bit of time to figure out. The advanced option might seem a bit scary for basic users. I think the basic options are pretty much good enough and they do the job. It’s been working well but I’ve only owned it for about 2 months. Really love the fact that it’s thin and compact and can even be stored upright – Pretty cool!

Works good so far!

Works OK so far. Does not give me the deep colors as well as the original. Should be satisfactory.

Nice scanner.

This is a nice, compact scanner but I had to search the internet for a Windows 7 driver. Not that big of a deal but had to be done. It would have been nice if it came with the Windows 7 driver.

Hardware quality is flimsy
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
After reading the mostly positive reviews, and very attracted by the lack of power adapter (less chances of component failure, and better for the environment), I decided to give this scanner a try to replace my old all-in-one printer/scanner that did not support Windows 7 x64.

First the good news; I confirm that the LiDE200 works fine with Windows 7 64 bits (although I had to delete the previous scanner’s driver by hand in the C:WindowsTwain_32 directory – there is an FAQ on Canon’s site for that when Navigator EX crashes on startup – thanks Canon for the good FAQ). I didn’t have a problem with the software (beside the 31 characters filename limitation – what year are we Canon? Is that from the old Mac’s FSSpec?) and liked the multi-pages PDF scanning interface (as easy as you can get without a feeder).

Now the bad news:

- the first unit I received scanned with black borders due to the white background of the unit not being aligned properly. Also, the construction is quite flimsy, so you’re never guaranteed that it’s going to align the background the same way each time. Amazon.com was great and sent me another scanner very quickly (got it 36 hours after I reported my problem).

- the second unit had a very slight pinkish gradient from the left side fading quickly to the right (pretty obvious when doing a color scan of a white sheet of paper). I didn’t have that problem on the first unit. Deceiving.

Well, I returned both units and will be looking at a different model, this one performed poorly and the construction/quality felt cheap.

worst software in the world
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
if you buy this scanner you will have no choice but to use the worst software i have ever encountered—there is no simple scan page just an attempt by arc soft studios to monopolize your software use, to there own greedy aims please let me save you some time —no a lot of time and frustration for go this piece of trash

Very good value and easy to install
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This replaces my old HP Scanner. Price was excellent, fast free delivery, and very easy to install. I like having only the USB connection now instead of the separate power supply that my old HP needed. I am not an expert by any means and female 65 years old. I was able to install myself and start using right away without any help. I have already recommended to a friend who bought today.

CanoScan LIDE 200 a winner
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Although modestly priced, this scanner performs well. Very intuitive and easy to use. Had a number of old film prints to scan and it did it very well, lending itself to later processing in Photoshop Elements. Also did a few PDF scans and photocopies. All worked well. An easy installation. Glad I bought it.

Canon Scanner
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Old scanner died, have much faith in Canon products. Have 4 cameras and use Canon printer also so went with Canon scanner and for my uses, didn’t want to spend a lot. The scanner is great. Easy to install and up and running quickly. Have scanned photos and documents with absolutely no problem. I am no pro with computers and periphials, but this was extremely easy to install and use. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommendCanon LiDE200 Color Image Scanner (2924B002)
