Good little camera
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I really like this camera. It came with a memory card (Amazon Special “thanks guys”). It takes great pictures, has a long battery life between charges, it does great short videos, and it is easily pocketable.
Great Small Camera
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This camera is perfect to throw in your purse when you do not want to carry a larger camera, you barely know it is there.
The pictures are really good quality, with colors that are nice and vibrant and I have made some good prints for friends, since I bring this to birthday parties, BBQs and other get togthers.
I usually just leave it in full automatic mode because of how well it does with that, but there are some other settings you can change if you need to.
can’t go wrong with canon
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
bought this canon to replace my wifes old canon. this is smaller but with a larger lcd screen.
never had a problem with her old canon, so i decided to stick with canon and got her the sd770.
you can’t go wrong with canon, you may find cheaper cameras, but if you want great picture quality
go with canon. i bought this for her this past christmas (2008) for 159.00 and free shipping. not sure
why the price has gone up, usually prices go down with electronics and the cheapest i have seen this
camera now is 199.00.
Temporary investment only

I have had this camera for about 18 months now, and have never been wholly satisfied. I ought to have returned it, but am a terrible procrastinator, and had done much research to select this one. It’s my last (and THIRD) Canon Elph.
I find the quality control on Canon Elph to be dismal. The gyroscope didn’t work consistently after a month, so rotating the camera to look at pics was a pain.
The focus features in auto and manual modes were not as clear as my previous model, somewhere in the 400s. Contrast was fuzzy.
Many silly features that didn’t seem to do much for the photos.
It survived one drop onto concrete from standing height (abt 37″ at waist), which pleased me no end! However, the second fall it took, from my 8-y-0 waist height, onto carpet, was its death sentence.
The extending lens is jammed, and Canon’s cost to look at the thing = $45 and repairs start at $130.
That’s more than half the cost of a new one.
I bill this as a disposable camera.
Good One

Quality control problem
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This is a good camera but not a great camera. I was hoping for better quality than my last camera but after owning the Photshot SD770 IS camera for only 8 months the battery door broke off. The hinge cracked because it is made of plastic. My choices were to pay to ship it back to Cannon for repair and be without my camera for several weeks or to order the $13.00 part and install it myself. I opted to order the part as it “should” be easy to install and I won’t be without my camera for several weeks.
Overall the camera is a good camera. It is not too difficult to operate but there are settings that I haven’t begun to explore. The picture quality is good. I am sure it could be better if I learned how to use some of the more advanced settings, but for my home use it is good enough.
So easy to use even a girl can use it

Purchased two for my girls to take to college, reasonable price, good quality, clear sharp images, fits in a purse or tight jeans survived beer pong and God knows what else and so easy a girl can use it!!
Hey my girls are getting their PhD’s, I’m the C student lol
Disappointed that there is no audio/video accessory
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I watched someone with a different canon camera plug into their television with their audio/video cord that came with their camera and show all their pictures on the t.v. When I went looking for the cable, I found that this particular camera doesn’t have one.
very nice camera

I have had this camera for about a year now and I totally love it. Its taken pictures of everything and I really love the quality of the pictures it takes. It has several settings so you really do have allot of options for how you can make the pics look when you take your pictures. The only beef I have with this camera is I wish it had better quality zoom. I guess all i have to do to fix this tho is walk closer to the thing im taking a picture of. I didn’t think it was worth taking away any stars because the other pluses of this camera pretty much cancel that out. If you plan on taking pics of wildlife in the woods or birds in trees you man not want this camera. Family use tho this camera is awesome. I really love that you can take videos with this thing and then watch the videos right on your camera and hear the sound and everything. Iv never had a camera that does that before!
Terrific point and shoot

I bought this camera for my wife to use for taking photos of our new baby. After having this camera recommended by a friend I picked it up on Amazon.com. The camera feels and looks solid and has a bright large LCD screen on the back. The camera is dummy proof and takes sharp images with out any manual adjustments. My only complaint is that it uses proprietary batteries.
Only purchase if you plan to keep in the box at all times!

I’m so sad because I purchased this camera 3/09 and it’s dead after 4months..deemed unrepairable by Canon because of water damage. I would admit if this had been dropped in the toilet or even just around water exposed, but it has only been used under normal conditions! And if I can’t put my camera in my purse or in a sealed pocket of the diaper bag or on the countertop then it’s not the camera for me or most people I would imagine. My old kodak which became the kid’s play camera after purchasing the new one and which has been dropped a zillion times and probably submerged in water is still working just fine. It was a great working camera, but as a mom and someone who brings my camera everywhere..beach, park, preschool…I need something more durable!
lightweight, awesome pic quality, very good video too
the lightweight of the sd770 is absolutely fantastic. save yourself some time and quite shopping other brands–just figure out what you want in a camera and then what canon fits that bill and then start looking at various vendors for the best price. skip any extended warranty–not necessary–spend the extra money on a big memory card. battery works well for a full week of shooting in the field, as long as you don’t spend lots of time looking at your videos. (I bought a back-up battery and have only needed it a couple times.) these new batteries are way better than just 2 year ago… oh, also the buttons are big enough to be navigated with liner gloves on. enjoy. 6/2009 = posted. I have absolutely no affiliation with canon or any camera company–I am a art professor.

I would recommend this camera to anyone (canon sd770is). sony, olympus, etc, cannot compete with the r&d $ that canon throws at it’s cameras. the picture quality is stunning, the camera is solid and real. every photo professor I have ever worked with goes with canon when they go digital. I got this one due to the small size and weight–I am a climber. This camera was made for me–I understand digital cameras and what they should do… I also own a lower-end digital rebel (10 meg, 2009 model, about $1k retail). wow, now that is a camera–(apples and oranges to the sd770is). I am a serious photographer as well as a point-and-shoot fool!
Excellent product!

I bought it when it was on sale a couple of months ago, and it is great! The colors come out excellent, and the camera hasn’t given me any issues as of yet (I took it overseas to places where the temperature is more than 100)!
Great camera and I would definitely recommend it to others.
Perfect

I upgraded from a previous model that I loved! I took it with me everywhere and it finally died. So I got this one, and it is every bit as good. It is everything I want in a little point-and-shoot digital camera.
I put a screen protector on this one because I noticed the screen getting scuffed and scratched on my other one during my rock climbing, backpacking, and other daily and high adventures. But a reliable, perfect little camera!
Great, until it broke
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I loved this camera when I first got it. The video was meh, but the still images were very high-quality. It served me faithfully for a year, until now. It just broke all of a sudden due to a “lens error.” I have a budget to adhere to and cannot afford to replace a $240 camera every year. I do not recommend purchasing it.
