Fantastic Monitor
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I did a HUGE amount of research to find the best 22″ computer monitor under $300. The sound is not great (no bad either), but I did not buy it to be a HDTV. It works perfectly. The remote is intuitive, the buttons on the side allow you to switch between monitor and TV very easily. It comes with both VGA and DVI (male-male) cables and it overall a fantastic product. This is the best 22″ monitor for under $300 and it just to happens to be a television too.

Everything came on time as promised and was quick to set up. The picture as usual is amazing but the sound as other reviews have noted is tinny to fair. Still for a birthday present for the wife so she can watch tv in the kitchen it rocks. She uses it every day so mission accomplished. Thanks Amazon.
Great Buy, Great Product !

We wanted a small set with good quality picture and color resolution. Something easy to connect was a high priority. We got just that when the set was delivered. We are very pleased. Set was delivered in a timely manner.

Nearly flawless monitor

I bought the T220HD to meet all my needs in college, since it’s practically a media center once you connect cable tv, a laptop, and gaming consoles to it.
What I like:
- Amazing picture quality. 720p video looks gorgeous. The colors are crisp and I see no backlight bleeding.
- The built-in menu options. I really like setting it on dynamic contrast or auto-volume, and let the television adjust its volume and color to complement what I’m watching.
- The monitor itself is just sexy. I love the styling.
- The built-in tuner works wonderfully! I connected it up to the same antenna, and simply told it to find available channels. Within a minute I had more crisp and clear television channels than the main HDTV in the family room.
What I don’t like:
- The touch sensitive power button. I don’t have any problems with it working on the first try like other reviewers, but without a tactile button I have to blindly stab in the general area to turn it on in the dark.
- The stand doesn’t tilt as far down as I’d like. The viewing angle is worse down than it is left, right, or up, so I have to pay attention to where I put it in the room so I have a clear picture.
- My refurbished unit didn’t come with all the advertised extras. It didn’t come with an audio cord, the manual, or a remote. This is no fault of the monitor, just something to think about if buying refurbished.
- No S-Video port.
Other comments:
- The inside of the bezel is reflective. It’s not noticeable from a distance (like watching television or movies) but I did notice that the last quarter inch of my screen was reflected when I used it as a monitor (since I was sitting closer).
- The monitor plays nicely with Vista, but Ubuntu didn’t want to display it at its full resolution.
Wow looking back, my dislike list is longer than my like list. But I really am spectacularly pleased with it… Completely happy with my purchase.
great LCD 22 TV works great

it works very good since we got it, the image is clear, the colors are just great and for the price there is not a better deal also looks like it was new not refurbished. the remore works great i would say its a wonderfull investment for college or if you are in a low budget, i am buying a second set for the bedroom.
Great Monitors, terrible service

After enjoyng this monitor for 5 mos the monitor quit one day out of the blue, giving me a flashing blue light that would not turn on or off or reset. After calling customer service they informed me that they would have to exchange the monitor and I would be reciving one in 1-2 weeks, I gave them my credit card number so that the monitor would be drop shipped to my door as the nearest UPS Store is 40 minutes away. Well it was delivered to the UPS Store anyways upon which I was never notified. Four weeks later when I called them and asked where my monitor may be they told me what had happened and said they had recieved the monitor the week before, again with no notification to me. I was told that they would two-day air the monitor to me. They asked for my credit card a second time and after I gave them 4 credit card including two no limit business cards that were declined by them, I had to tell them to just figure it out. The monitor did not come till a week later, I then left on business for 4 days so did not open the monitor until I got back. When I did the monitor was the wrong monitor, not only that but they had the wrong base in the box as well so I couldn’t even use the monitor. I was told by customer service that nothing could be done about this mistake or any of the other mistakes, I had now been without a monitor for 6 weeks. They did tell me they were going to two-day air another monitor and this one would be a new monitor not a refabbed one. That was on August 5th it is now the 13th and I do not have my monitor. This last call offered me no tracking number as the monitor has not even been shipped yet as well as no resolve to make me a happy Samsung customer. In fact the final person that I spoke to in Executive Customer Service basically hung up on me when I expressed my unhappiness in thier ineptitude. Througn no mistakes on my part (besides from buying a Samsung) I have been without a monitor for two months. All the phone calls have lasted at least a half an hour, and while some promises have been made in a half-hearted attempt to resolve the situation none have been followed through on.
good for the price

it is really good for that price.
it is not an amazing tv, but I need is as a tv by now and in some future I will use is as a computer monitor, so, I expect it will be better as a monitor.
The really good thing is the resolution.

I purchased this video gem as a guest room TV/occasional video monitor. I couldn’t be more pleased with the outstanding quality of the picture/graphics it provides. It would have rated 5 stars if the sound were HiDef instead of LoDef … unfortunately, it’s barely acceptable. I’ll have to add supplementary external audio to make it work out for me. I wish I had known. Video-Super, Audio-Pooper!
Excellent HDTV for small room, straight-on viewing
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Samsung packages this HDTV/computer monitor in a box showing it used as a TV in a kitchen. Do that and you won’t be happy. To further the Samsung confusion, they refer to it on their web site as a computer “premium monitor”. So. If you want an HDTV to view from 5-7′ away, pretty much straight on, this one’s great. I urge you to set it up right. I’ll try to squeeze in settings: Tools menu: Standard. Menu|Picture|Mode:Standard Backlight:7 Contrast:83 Bright:68 Sharp:73 Color:36 Tint: G44R56 Picture options: Color tone: Normal Size:wide Digital NR:Auto HDMI Black Level: Low Film Mode: Off AUTO VOLUME: AUTO! Setup: Energy Saving:Low Keep it set at 16:9 I’ve had it about 2 months and find the image terrific, and I’m a lifelong live TV producer. I would suggest adding pair of high quality amplified speakers, and I mean high quality (speakers for audio, not home theater), but if you set the audio to AUTO, you won’t be really disappointed with the Samsung’s built-in audio unless you watch a lot of movies.
Channel issues!
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This is a good TV/Monitor.
It has a great picture.
The only issue I’ve had is the channel lists are messed up.
If I delete a channel then go back to the TV screen, it’s still there!
Very annoying!
Good for a small bedroom or office

Pretty satisfied with this product. Had to adjust color and brightness control to get a good picture. My husband says picture is still too small for his satisfaction but I find it just fine for the bedroom. Still haven’t figured out how to program my remote to use my video player (not so easy according to the directions)
Delighted

Can’t say enough about this monitor/tv. When I think how long I put up with that old 15″ CRT I wonder what was wrong with me. This monitor is so bright and sharp that I almost never need my glasses and the one button switching between PC and HDTV is so convenient. Installation/setup takes only a couple of minutes and you are on your way to much more comfortable viewing.

I ordered this monitor as a 2nd screen for my bedroom, I hooked up my 2nd Blu-ray player & 2nd PS3 to it. It looks great, and is very sleek looking. It is a “computer monitor” so it doesn’t have the ability to wall mount so it just sits on my dresser. The plastic stand worried me in the beginning but after a couple of late nights “bumps” into the dresser the stand held firm. It is a great purchase for the price. It has the connection form the coaxial cable and a built in digital tuner….I have not used them since the main purpose was just for the Blu-ray & PS3 not cable. My friend saw it and immediately bought one for herself & her daughters rooms.
