I gave this as a birthday present. Recipient is pleased and uses it in a small room. My take is that the picture is really crisp and clear, but that the sound quality is not the greatest. That is, sounds “tinny,” like it’s sound out of a metal can. However, birthday boy seems to think it’s fine and that’s what matters.

Had problem setting up an adequate picture. Got tired of trying and finally decided to return the item. Return was accepted without prejudice. No restocking charge, but did have to pay return shipping costs.
Very Good but not Perfect

Overall, I liked this TV, it works fine and I like the styling and color. The only things that I thought needed to be changed are the long time it seems to take to come on after you hit the on button and the strange sound that it makes when you turn it on and off. Also I don’t know why they made it with a black electric cord when the rest of it is white. It is a very good TV and I am happy with it overall.

I Bought the Samsung LN19A450 last year for the den and loved it, bought the LN22A450 for the master bedroom because I was so pleased with the 19 inch. The picture is great, sound is ok, very easy setup, remote is not layed out for easy one hand use (I use the Direct TV remote and this is not a problem for me) and the set has enough inputs so I can use it for my dish, rabbit ears and computer all at the same time.

The tv came in a timely fashion and in good shape, was easy to install, but does not have the picture quality that I expected after seeing the same model in a store.
Disappointment

I bought this about 6 months ago and loved it till it just stopped working. It turns it self off and on till it eventually craps out. The only way to turn it off is to unplug it. Could barley understand the customer service rep due to lots of background noise on her end so I finally hung up and went online. I have to pay to ship it to NJ, who knows when I will see it again.
Broke after just 3 months. Samsung service made it worse.

Wow, what a lousy experience with Samsung. I can’t say I would ever buy another product from them: The television stopped working after 90 days. Bad backlight. No picture. They took responsibility (1 year warranty) and gave me a shipping label to send it back, to their credit. I packaged it up very carefully in their original box, including all of the original plastic protective bags styrofoam. The box was in new condition.
It took 3 weeks from the time I sent it back until the time it was returned. Not sure if it’s fixed, because I haven’t even plugged it in yet – the first thing that I noticed when removing it from the now super beat up box? The entire front of this new shiny black plastic TV now has thousands of tiny scratches all over it. Nightmare consumer experience- cheap electronics break quickly, repairs done slowly, product comes back worse than when it left. Totally dissatisfied.
Very nice TV

As others have said, the sound isn’t the best on this television but then, it’s a small, inexpensive TV, so one shouldn’t expect the same sound as on units costing ten times as much. I have not tried external speakers but may do so at some point. Other than that, the picture is good. At first we didn’t like the pictue much, but we sharpened the picture via the menues, and now the picture is to our liking. The TV scans for new channels much more quickly than our year old set by another maker. Furthermore, the remote is much more ergonomic than our other one. The numbers are on the upper part of the unit. They were on the bottom of our old unit, meaning you couldn’t hold the remote in one hand and change the channel with the fingers of that same hand. With this remote, it’s possible to do so. Viewing the screen at an angle isn’t a problem unless one the screen from almost 180 degree angle. In short, we are very plased with this TV

I’ve had this tv for about a month now and am very pleased with it’s performance. The picture is much higher quality and the sound is great. I was working with a specific space size and this one fit the bill. It was and is a great choice.

The picture on this TV is beautiful and it was a great surprise for my boyfriend. The sound is a little low, but otherwise, it’s a great TV. I based my purchase on the reviews of the product and it is exactly as others described. Great picture, OK sound. overall – a good value.

I bought this TV because my PS3 was lonely without an actual HDTV. I did a lot of shopping around, I even came close to purchasing a Westinghouse TV but [...] won’t take my card–and I’m glad they didn’t. I wasn’t too excited about paying the price, but I knew I was getting a quality product from Samsung. It has one HDMI port, RGB port, and the standard AV port, along with audio out and some other things that are become the standard. I’ve hooked my PS3 up to it via an HDMI cable and I have SO impressed with what I see on my screen. I watched a BlueRay movie on it and WOW is there some detail I would have never seen in theaters! And the sound isn’t half bad either. It’s like a step down from high quality surround sound. When I first bought the TV, I didn’t get the HDMI right away, I played games on the Standard AV–which was something I didn’t want to last forever. Do yourself a favor–avoid using the AV, it makes things blurred/pixelated. Reading text on the screen was not an easy thing to do. HDMI is the way to go. The controller is easy to use and getting around the menu is fairly easy. I highly recommend this product. Wouldn’t you want to be the envy of your roommates?
Good TV bad sound – enough problem!

We have to send it back. The audio issue is intermittent, and typically only when seeing high def source video – I believe it is with both 780p/i as well as 1080i. The problem corrupts the audio intelligibility, and sounds like a distorted signal that sweeps back and forth with a peculiar modulation effect, similar to a flanger but with a higher distortion that makes the sounds mostly un-intelligible. This problem usually stops after some time, but mostly is undiscriminate – and we’ve stopped it by switching channels back and forth – only to find it happen again, at some undetermined periodocity.

EXCELLENT picture & LOTS of inputs on the back ! I can’t think of anything negative to say about this TV.
Its lightweight & portable if you want to take it with you in an RV, etc.
I highly recommend this TV !!
Poor quality and warranty service

After owning the TV for about 2 months, it developed a high-pitched whine from the back of the set (not the speakers). Samsung told me that it was a faulty power supply unit. Since it is more than 30 days old, Amazon wont do an exchange, and my only option through Samsung is to pack and ship the TV (at my own expense) to their repair facility in New Jersey (I live in Washington DC). So in order to make my (now 5 month old) TV work, I have to pay about $120 to ship it out for repairs that will take from 5 to 8 weeks. Strongly recommend that you look for a different brand with better quality control and more reasonable warranty service.
USED but just as good as new

I bought this TV used with “minor damage on housing” for $248. It was a HELLUVA deal. The minor damage on housing was a small tiny cosmetic scratch on the stand. Who cares about the stand. The TV came sooner than expected and I didnt have to pay for sales tax or shipping. The TV itself works very well, has good picture, and sounds is great. I dont know what people are complaining about regarding the sound. Samsung’s make the best TV. I have had a 51 inch SAmsung DLP for 5years it looks and works great. IM a fan of brand consistency. I work in finance, so i have this TV in my work office and keep it on CNBC all day. No HDMI just air feed. it works perfectly for a office tv.
very satisfied with the TV and AMAZON
