Great picture, good sound, unclear instructions
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I bought this tv online, mainly because it was the only 32″ tv I could find that would fit into the cutout space in the wall above my fireplace. Although it was a little pricier than I wanted to pay, I had no choice. I am very, very pleased with it. The picture is superb, and I have not experienced the “tinny” sound that a couple of other reviewers have mentioned. The only problem that I have had was in the set up process. I worked with it for a couple of hours without success, until I found that I needed to follow the instructions and use the remote that came with my cable system, rather than the instructions and remote that came with the tv (I have a fiber optic cable system and dvr box). It would have helped morons like myself if the tv manual had carried a warning that for some cable and dvr systems the instructions of those systems should be followed!

Anyway, now I am happy for having bought this tv. The picture is clear from all angles. Were it not for that omission in the instructions, I’d have given it a five star rating without hesitation.

Happy with Samsung LCD

We purchased this product for our daughter. It is exactly the same as the one we purchased earlier for ourselves. She saw it at our house and asked if she could have one for her birthday. Unlike our setup, she does not have cable and has to use an antenna. She is able to get HD, and says it is “gorgous”.

Although the first time it was shipped it came with two remotes and no screws to attach to the base, this was quickly rectified without any hassle from Amazon.

A video Review of the TV.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R25Q95UB646QBA Please keep in mind this is a general overview . I don’t go into details over menu interface, connections, specs, ect. And though the PC connection is a big plus for me I have no tested it yet. So I do not know if HDMI adapters or HDMI/VGA cables are best for this TV.

I will touch on this though, High Def sources are best for this screen. If you own a Wii or anything that can not outsource above 420p do not expect mouth dropping results. The TV does a respectable job buts not what its meant for.

UPDATE. Sep 18th.

The Tv is still running great. I got the chance to hook a PC up to it using a DVI to HDMI cable and the picture was fantastic.

Excellent TV

Crystal clear, sharp, picture; beautiful colors; easy set-up. This set is in our bedroom. Others have complained about the sound quality/volume, but I found it to be good…set it on SS. For those using (Comcast) cable box, make sure the volume control is turned up to highest level on the box, then adjust volume using the Samsung remote.

Scheduled arrival was much quicker than estimated. TV was opened, installed and checked-out by a courteous delivery man…also took away the empty carton. Kudos to Amazon!

If you want to view a sharp, crisp image on your screen, I highly recommend this set. You won’t be disappointed.

Met our expectations

We did research for the model and brand of TV. We did comparative shopping for the price. Amazon came through again! We are pleased with our TV and would recommend it to others.

Good if everything is HD sources.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This was the top rated TV on consumer reports. But the reality is that 1080p is not necessary and can actually be worse than 720p when it comes to watching standard definition DVD’s/TV in terms of picture quality. For example, compare this model and the 720 version on CNET’s website and you’ll see that the 1080 does not do as good a job as the 720 in fully resolving standard content. On the other hand, if your watching HD-DVD/Blu-Ray’s or Hi-def sattelite/cable on this set, the picture is very good.

I was very satisfied in the service I received for buying this TV through Amazon. TV is working just great. And the delivery company (PILOT FREIGHT SERVICE) was just excellent in setting up this set and making sure it was in working order. Driver even stayed until set was programmed. A great guy, and very well informed on the workings of this TV.

This is the second set I bought through Amazon. Last July I bought a 46″ Samsung HDTV and also was extremely pleased in the service in making sure set was in working order before they departed.

We have this setup in our bedroom. We watch movies on our home theater system which uses the Panasonic AE3000U projector for reference. (it’s mind blowing)

For bedroom use it’s mainly HDTV programming from cable feeding our HD Tivo. So that is the image I am looking at most the time. I also popped in a Bluray or two as a maximum image test.

WOW.

The image, as many have said, looks 3D in a way. Very clear, deep blacks, and intense color. I am also blown away at all the adjustment options there are. I mean you can tweak this TV to work in a lightless cave or on a sunny beach!

The cable feeds had me drooling then I popped in “Sunshine”, the newer space horror flick. This movie is full of dark contrast heavy scenes that murder most the mid tone black levels. Not with this set! All of the details in the hallways and in the space scenes were clearly visible. No more murky dark areas. Deep black “space”, bright stars, and visible mid tones galore. HEAVEN.

I would say for anyone sitting 6 feet to 8 feet back from this TV, you’re done, buy it. Further than that you need to find something larger.

Why didn’t I give it 5 stars? It actually has a very cool and welcome DLNA feature built in. You can play mp3s, jpgs, and clips from content on a thumb drive. It even has a decent menu and GUI for it. However they did not provide a network connection to more fully take advantage of this. Connecting it to your network is really what DLNA is all about. And it’s further odd the lack of a network connection when they say to check Samsung now and then for firmware updates! (like most bluray players do with their built in net connections)

So only a little gripe. And really, with my HD Tivo, I get all the DLNA stuff on my network anyway.

Great HDTV

Gorgeous picture. Fairly easy to figure out all the features. I love the fact that the TV decides the best configuration for the picture being fed.

a great addition to our house

it fits in the space we dedicated for it. The picture is clear and has many options that are are easy to manipulate. The only problem I have right now is connecting to my PC. I buoght a VGA cable, connected to my computer and the TV but still not reception.

Consumer Reports is Right On!

Consumer Reports rated this 32″ Samsung as number one in it’s size. After watching the TV set I agree whole heartedly.

Great, compact TV for a great price!

I purchased this TV second-hand, and I use it as a computer monitor. I do a significant amount of graphic design work, so color reproduction, black levels and clarity are very important to me.

Expect to spend some time playing with the settings if you want anything approximating true colors. At first I thought this was an awful TV/monitor. I spent a couple hours trying to calibrate it and, after being unable to achieve usable results, I almost sold it the next day. It took me a couple more hours of a tinkering to finally get it how it is now, but NOW it is fantastic.

It took a combination of video card settings and monitor settings. While calibrating I ensured I had a high contrast background with lots of dark colors. I played a video with lots of action and facial tones, and kept a color palette up. Then I played with the settings individually, I first got the monitor optimized: sharpness (0), contract (65), brightness(60), color(50), tint (G50/R50), color temperature (Cool2), in Dynamic mode using the “Just Scan” option and none of the stupid gimmicky software filtering they add under picture options. Then moving onto the video card settings I found that I needed to drastically alter the gamma settings to alleviate serious black-bleeding (+1.27). I also had to fool around with individual colors using the automatic monitor setup tool that comes with Nvidia video cards. Obviously, your TV and video card are going to differ from mine, but hopefully this serves as a helpful starting point.

The color reproduction and black levels are almost on par with my IPS and PVA panels that sit to the left and right respectively. Even though this is a TN, it does have very acceptable color reproduction. Now don’t get me wrong, you will not want to do any sort of graphic work on this TV, but it looks great for movies, games and general computer use.

It is sufficiently bright with the backlight on level 0 both at night and during the day.

The remote is alright. It’s quite ugly, but it’s designed with older folks in mind. The buttons are easy to hit and the backlight behind the keys makes it easily usable in a dark room.

The stand is sturdy and looks very nice and clean. The base’s rotation works well and stays where placed, it will not rotate on its own.

If you do much switching between resolutions, such as transitioning into a legacy full screen program, the monitor does take a few seconds to catch up. It is much worse than any monitor I’ve used before, but not a deal-breaker for me at all.

I can truly recommend this product, but be prepared to calibrate!

Excellent quality

A great TV, simple (no setup almost) to install. We use it in the kids’ playroom for which this quality of TV is frankly overkill. The room is three sides glass and we found the “Dynamic” picture option is a pre-requisite for daytime viewing – but thats the extent of the setup. Hard to imagine better at the price.
