nice solid tv
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought it for my children’s bedroom, and so far, we can’t complain. The only thing is, it needs more connections, such as USB or another component connection, because one can only connect one thing at a time to it, e.g. video game, HDMI connection is useless this purpose (camera, VCR, Wii, etc). But then again, how often would we need to to that?..

We bought it at the Amazon outlet, where it said the box was banged up, nothing else was wrong. That’s exactly what we saw. With no tax and free shipping, can’t beat the price, $317.

So portable!

I was looking for an easily moveable TV with DVD. I love the built in DVD slot. The TV is light and easy to move. Just what I was looking for.

A bit pricey

Over all, I like the quality of this TV. However, based on the quality and prices of tvs in it’s size class, I would definitely not recommend this tv if you have room for a component DVD player. The only reason I purchased this tv was for convenience and space. You can definitely get a better TV for less without the built in DVD. If space isn’t an issue, save your money.

Bought for Senior Citizen
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
We bought this TV/DVD combo for my Great Uncle who is 68 years old, disabled with degenerative joint disease, lives out of state, and has a forth grade education. He has never owned anything but a 19″ CRT television with one component hooked up; a DVD player that hasn’t worked for about 1 year. We didn’t want our gift to turn into a hook up/multiple remotes nightmare for our senior relative so we decided on a combo unit. I downloaded the owners manual and told my uncle the estimated arrival date and assured that we would call and if necessary walk him through any problems over the telephone (he connects to cable without a box). The TV arrived by FED-EX 1 day earlier than the estimated arrival date so when we called he already had it set up and programmed. He was able to lift and carry the TV without any difficulty due to it’s light weight “the delivery man handed it to me right over the [4 ft] fence”. He did need help with one thing, changing the picture size from letter block to full screen. It took just a minute to look up in the downloaded manual and then tell him which button on the remote (PIC SIZE) to push. He was a little embarrassed for not noticing that button himself but delighted to have a full screen so quickly and easily. I talked to him again after having the TV for one week and this is his feedback: He raved about the picture quality, “I could see a single eyelash and I wear glasses!” He watched a Planet Earth DVD and said, “it’s like being under water with your eyes open…there’s no glare at all!” He has a certain pair of glasses that he wore while watching his old TV but said that he could wear any of his glasses with this new one. And he said with childish delight that he’s receiving 10 additional channels that he didn’t get with his old TV; one of them being a 24/7 weather channel that he really likes. He has discovered that he can watch a DVD, hit the TV/DVD button and watch the news when it comes on, and then hit the TV/DVD button again and resume his DVD right where he left off…”and the DVD stays right inside the TV…it doesn’t come out unless I hit the eject button”. He really liked like. He also really likes that he can put a DVD in without having to change the TV to a certain channel. He did have one criticism and that’s the volume. With his old TV he could turn it up load enough to hear the news while he was on his porch but with this TV it isn’t loud enough to be heard outside, “but that’s okay…I love it”.

Problem with volume
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I’ve had this TV for about six months now and am happy with it, with one major exception: on some channels, even when the volume is turned up to maximum level, the sound is barely audible even from 6 feet away (I have the TV at the foot of my bed). Have had the same problem when playing CDs and DVDs. Am mystified–don’t know if it’s the TV or the station/CD/DVD. Another minor problem is that the set is slow–takes 5-10 seconds between pressing the “on” switch until the picture appears.

Love it!

I thought my 15-year-old TV-VCR combo had finally gone out when I ordered this, and found out later it was the cable, not the TV, but I am SOOOO glad it gave me an excuse to buy this TV. I love it!

Cluck for your buck

In a world where we’ve become accustomed to HUGE TV’s, I was surprised when this arrived and had to remind myself I purchased a 22″ TV. Other than that – it works beautifully, is easy to operate and set up. I would purchase it again.

Works great

Absolutely no problems with TV or DVD. Remote takes getting used to. Buttons could have been placed more conveniently.

It’s okay for the money.
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I chose this mostly for the price and I think it’s an okay tv. I’m having trouble getting the color just right. I can make the people any cool or warm shade of pink or green or orange, just not flesh. Oddly, it’s gotten better with time (or maybe I’m just used to it now). Other people have complained about the sound, but it’s fine on mine. It projects forward, so if I’m not in front of it I just have to turn up the volume. Since it’s my bedroom tv, I like that the buttons on the remote are lit up.

Great TV for the Money
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Very nice TV. The picture is great, the DVD player is perfect, and I have it hooked up to both HD cable and two separate gaming systems (XBox 360 & Playstation 2) and both look great on the television. I’m very happy with it.

Great TV for the Price

I bought this TV for my 2 year old daughter. She has a normal size bedroom and it’s perfect. The sound would be a factor if it was used for a larger room but since this is for her bedroom it’s perfect.

Worth the Money
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The TV in my bedroom had given up the ghost so I thought I would take a look at Amazon to see what they had to offer. Since I already have a large screen Toshiba in the TV room that is still going well I would look to see what they had. Style, quality and price and a built in DVD made the decision easy. Picture and sound are just what I was looking for. Go for it.

Toshiba’s False advertising
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I wanted a flat screen LCD with built-in DVD, but most important was the on-timer feature (sometimes called alarm timer) which was listed in the Toshiba specifications. The TV arrived today – no clock, no on-timer! Called Toshiba Customer Service (not!) and was referred to the tiny print at the bottom of the spec sheet – “subject to change.” I asked for a supervisor to voice my displeasure that the company does not bother to correct its current specs listings, and got a snotty young man who told me to send it back to the company from whom I bought it. When I asked him what reason I should return it for since the only thing wrong with it was the manufacturer’s description, he got worse and basically hung up on me.

Satisfactory for space saving Kitchen Unit
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I selected the white unit that fits well in the Kitchen corner, and looks sweet with white cabinets. The digital tuner doesn’t convert the cable feed unless the cable box is employed, which defeats space saving advantages, since there is no cable card slot. I wanted to play CDs on my unit as well, but disappointed with the sound, so had to buy a ZVOX mini soundbar that has great sound and automatically functions well with this TV sound control/remote. I put the mini soundbar on top of the cabinets outta sight. Another disappointment is that you can’t play CDs without the LCD screen being on, displaying a lame track list. It takes more than average time for this TV’s chipset to change channels and launch the CDs/DVDs. If you are watching an analog feed, expect a so-so picture.

I give it a C+.
