Completely Satisfied !
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I purchased this for my RV and for the Divx player capabilities.I have to say that this unit has exceeded my expectations. Set up was simple, picture quality is great via cable hookup and the Divx player plays all of my Divx movies. I know there has been some negative reviews on the sound quality but having this in my RV has not presented a problem, I have yet to turn it up past 50% volume.

Toshiba 19″ LCD with DVD
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Timely Arrival, System works great, I find the volume fine, put bass on full and backed off treble to get rid of tinny sound, extremely happy with it. Will only play DVD-R, will not play +R, all store bought DVDs play fine

A great deal

This came well packed and in excellent condition. The user manual is missing the information on how to do the initial setup!!! That is a KEY piece of information, wouldn’t you think? How could they have forgotten that? I had to call their toll-free tech support and figure out how to do it. Then I wrote the steps in the manual with a pen. The picture is great and it plays DVDs and also music CDs, which is also nice. The price was lower than everyone else and it arrived in only a couple days.

Bought this HDTV over 6 months ago and I’m still very pleased since the day I received it. Great picture. Great quality. DVD system works perfect. Will buy a Toshiba again if needed. Thanks!

Mistaken Purchase

Great picture, streamlined look, easy setup, but lack of volume makes this set useful in only smallest of rooms.

Disaster

The DVD drive never worked. The TV was much smaller than it looked. In general this LCD is just not work the price in the current market.

Toshiba 19LV506

Picture quality is excellent — including the DVD. I have no trouble with the sound either — I saw complaints about that, but I don’t understand why since it works perfectly for me. So far everything is working very well. I do like the 19 inches for the kitchen — it looks great too. I have satellite TV, I don’t know if that makes a difference to the quality of the sound. I’m pleased.

Worked well …for 8 months
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I must say, I’m disappointed in this product because for several months it worked well. To be fair, I knew the volume was an issue before I bought it as it was mentioned in other reviews. I noticed the low volume when I would watch older (black and white) DVD movies but it didn’t seem to affect TV shows or newer DVD’s. The picture quality was exceptional, the DVD player didn’t give me any issues and set up was a breeze. This unit worked so well that I bought a second within a month so it’s been a race to see which would clunk out first. The second unit I bought has (knock on wood) no issues thus far. However, the first unit I bought started having DVD player issues within seven months. It was hard to get DVD’s to eject-(a common theme amongst the low reviews here). Something seemed to have worked itself out though and it’s no longer an issue. But last week, we noticed a quarter-sized, gray disc shape towards the bottom of the screen. Apparently, a pixel(?) has burnt out…and it’s growing. It’s now silver-dollar size. I’m not sure what makes this happen but after reading the warranty and several one-star reviews on here, I’ve decided it’s not worth sending in for repair. It cost me about $300 from Best Buy and shipping sounds like it would be about a hundred-not to mention labor costs. Fortunately for Toshiba, I bought this product with low expectations as I’m not a big fan of current technology and workmanship and I’m am not even going to waste my blood-pressure on their famous “customer service.” For now, I’ll keep watching the defective set until the gray disc grows so large I can’t see who’s talking…..

Very Happy!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This item was a gift to my sister in California who lives in a wooded area – the TV got to her just fine and she loves it – Comcast came out and hooked up her cable and told her it was one of the best TVs they have seen. They said that the tuner inside was so great that she was able to pickup signals that other’s could not – Based on her satisfaction with the Tv – I would highly recommend it!! – My sister was very happy which makes me very happy.- Thank you for the fast shipping and excellent product at such a great price.

the wrong deal

Sound volume was terrible. Turned up volume as high as possible – not enough.

Picture quality was also poor. Coming off dish network & pix quality good on 2 other tvs.

Had qualified person try to adjust but couldn’t get it right. no matter what the price wouldn’t purchase again.

Returned.

Nice combo TV/DVD but Lousy Sound
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Just bought this TV/DVD after reading many of the reviews on this site. Like most, I like the picture quality but the sound needs some improvement.

If you live in a monastery, surrounded by silent monks, this is the perfect TV/DVD for you and read no further.

The sound is adequate, not great, for some channels but most are sub-par, no matter how much you adjust the audio levels (i.e., bass, treble, volume). So I bought a cheap pair of Kinyo powered speakers (PS-205) to match the TV. Yes, I agree this shouldn’t be necessary but it is, especially if you are using it in an environment such as the kitchen, which has lots of ambient noise.

The remote control is designed poorly but in the age of universal remotes, who cares. Buy some cheap powered speakers and a new remote and this will be the perfect addition to any room in your house.

surprising good for the money

This is a smallish TV and is fine for a smallish room. Very good picture, adequate sound, DVD player does what it’s supposed to. Our only complaint is that channel-changing is very slow and there’s no toggling between two channels. Amazingly good instruction booklet! An all-around bargain.

Great TV…But now no picture!
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
A disposable TV! First one returned…no picture. Second one worked great! Wonderful, clear picture…sound okay (better than most LCD TVs I tried). Easy set up. Remote glows in the dark. Now after several months, no picture. I would have to return to Toshiba at my expense. I have always loved Toshiba products, but no longer expect a long life from them. It’s back to my 10 year old Toshiba that still works fine…but lacks the quality picture this model had.

I strongly urge people not to buy this model unless they want to invest in a disposable TV!

Does the job.

Purchased this set for my spouse’s hobby room. Two sky lights and large windows created a very annoying glare on her old 12″ CRT TV. The new Toshiba’s picture quality is great and the LCD dramatically reduced the glare though not as much as the LED backlit screen on my notebook computer. The built in DVD player helped to reduce the clutter in the room by eliminating a separate DVD player. Now there is only The HDTV/DVD, the cable box and a VCR. At $249, the price was right and the white finish matched the woodwork and cupboards.

Lag time changing channels is annoying
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
This has been mentioned before…it takes 3 or 4 seconds to change channels. Annoying. Wish I had returned this television right away.
