Sony Bravia KLD32M4000 32″ HD Television

We purchased this television about a month ago and are very satisfied with the purchase. The delivery was a phenomenal – fast delivery and was completely set up in our living room. I have yet to be dissatisfied with any purchase made from Amazon.

This tv has been aswesome. I wanted a relatively small screen and did not need 1080 resolution. The 720p displays a great picture. I use the TV in an office type setup and it is perfect for watching the news or sneaking away for the movie of your choice.
I was a little skeptical about the shipping as I had never experienced CEVA shipping but we ordered this set in early Dec 08 and received it as promised a week before Christmas.
The sound, which is normally not so great from flat panel sets, is actually better than my 46″ 1080P (Sharp). I am looking at sound systems for the Sharp but won’t need them for the Sony 32″. At least not where and how I use it.

I purchased this TV to use as a monitor. What an obscenely beautiful monitor it is! The images are almost 3D and crystal clear. My Samsung 22″ monitor does not measure up. Streaming TV shows from HULU & Joost are incredible! With this gorgeous monitor, I don’t have to adjust the zoom & text sizes, no matter what. I cannot find any negative feature on this. Now, I am thinking of buying a game console very soon.

I highly recommend this LCD HDTV. I own one myself and have had it till now. It’s been about a year and so far, so good. Quality is superb (Whoa..especially Blu-ray movies.) I didn’t need a 1080pi since this one did just fine. Better than I expected actually. So if you’re looking for the right LCD TV and not looking for something too big? Get this one. You won’t be disappointed.

This flat panel offers excellent picture and sound. It took up little space, was easy to set up and is great fun for Wii applications. Amazon had the best price.

Love it… Compare it with the same type Vizio 32″ 720p HDTV and there’s a big difference in tuner signal … I paid an extra 70 bucks for the sony and satified with the performance…

Was shopping for an LCD for a bedroom and did not need 1080P. Besides this Sony I looked at 32″ models from Samsung (450 series), Sharp (non-Aquos), LG, and Toshiba (32av502u). The 32M4000 was a little more money than the other models, but I trusted the Sony brand and decided to spend the extra money. I had looked at this model at B&M stores and with HD feeds (nature scenes) the picture looked good.
I was really excited about this TV, but when I hooked it up I found that faces seemed to have a sunburnt look to them. Also, when viewed from the sides the color was washed out and people looked somewhat like the living dead. Nature scenes looked good though. I spent a lot of time adjusting the picture and was able to get faces to look pretty good when viewed straight on, but never could eliminate the zombie effect when viewed at an angle. I returned the Sony with the intention of buying the Samsung, but I found a deal on the Toshiba that saved me some money so decided to take my chances. I found the picture to be a noticable improvement even just straight out of the box wit no tweaking. Skin tones look more natural and the colors do not get washed out when viewed at an angle. I’m very happy I returned the Sony.
Pros:
The Sony has a very nice looking menu system. I especially liked the ability to create custom names for your inputs rather than choosing names from a list. The physical design looks good. The remote is simple and uncluttered.
Cons:
More expensive. I found the quality of the HD picture to be disappointing especially when viewing faces from an angle. This makes me suspect they are buying LCDs from cheaper sources for their lower end model lines. The remote can’t be used to control other devices.
Maybe I got a bad unit, but before you buy this TV I recommend you view it in a store and make sure you view something with close ups of faces.

Bought this primarily for watching HD movies and playing HD games via Xbox 360. I knew that there would be a bit of lag with it, but I had judged it to be negligible from my experiences with an LG 32″ I had. Wasn’t a good judging stick. The LG blows away the Bravia in this sense, in all others though, the Bravia comes out on top. Great picture, good color depth, nice and bright when I need it, and HD movies come out crisp and clear. However, the dark side to LCD technology is the lag that shows up when playing fast moving games. The good news, is that for a 32″ LCD, it’s actually not too bad. Right around 42ms. That can have serious consequences in an FPS style game, but once you get used to it, the lag basically disappears from your brain. Overall a great tv, well worth what I paid for it.

I have two 32in TV. One from Samsung, which I bought for 350 as a used product (it’s 2 year old product). I also got Sony for $480 brand New. I was expecting some difference from Sony vs Samsung, not because of the Brand, but because of the relatively newer technology from Sony. After having played with picture setting, I still liked Samsung better. Also, for some reason, Samsung screen feels bigger as well. I’m not saying Sony has bad picture, but if you can get a decent price for older LCD, you are not going to find much difference as long as you are getting one from one of these name brands. I use the TV for signals from PS3 and Cable as well as signals off the air.
Beautiful screen, easy to set up and use

We purchased this TV through Amazon for our living room. It is not a large room (we live in a condominium), and this screen is a great size for us. The screen is easily viewed from all angles throughout the room. I was worried about how difficult it might be to set up after reading some of the other reviews, but I couldn’t believe how easy it was. The menus are easy to access and understand, and the connections in the rear and on the side are plainly marked and should suit the needs of any equipment a user might want to connect.
So far, I have connected a digital cable box/DVR, a DVD player, as well as my Macbook (to watch streaming movies via Netflix or Hulu). It works fantastic, and it is a snap to change to different input sources.
The picture/colors are gorgeous. Even on the non-high-definition channels, the exceptional quality of this screen is instantly noticeable. I love the feature that automatically calibrates the screen (widescreen, 4:3, or zoom) for optimum performance for the channel being viewed.
If I have a criticism, it is the sound. It isn’t bad by any means, but not great either. I purchased a Bose Cinemate system to go with it, and I now have the system I’ve been dreaming about for years.
If you are looking for a great TV for a smaller space, or don’t want a TV that will be obscenely large and dominate the room, this is perfect. The price is wonderful and quality is outstanding.

this was our first hdtv and we have yet to upgrade our directv to hd. nevertheless, this unit is very good without hd. sound is quite adequate and the picture is also nice.
Beware!! The M4000 model is a known lemon with bad screen issues!!

I was enjoying this TV until on Day 31 it developed an electric blue line running vertically down the screen — over the picture, over the CC. The repair guy said the screen needed to be replaced, that THIS MODEL had ongoing problems — and SONY knows it, the repair people know it, and now I know it too. Google Bravia and thin blue line and you’ll see, this is NOT an uncommon problem The man recommended any other Bravia, but not the M.

Love this TV. It was easy for a single woman to set up alone. Operations are easy; great design. My only complaint is the delay between channel changes is pretty long, about 2 or 3 seconds. Other than that, the picture is great, the sound is excellent (front facing speaker), and the remote control is simple. Great TV for the price.
