Excellent choice for your next netbook!

Excellent product – I love it! Performs to product advertisement – I was skeptical of the 9.5 hour battery claim, but it did last that long!

Samsung NC10 Special Edition
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We really enjoy this netbook. Haven’t traveled far with it, but it seems to be very packable. We’ve mostly used it around town at wireless spots since we don’t have internet at home yet. It picks up networks easily. Surfing and emailing is quick and easy. It comes with just enough programs on it to be able to do most everything I want. I am contemplating purchasing Office for Home & Students 2007. Have had absolutely no problems or quirks so far!

Exceeds my expecttions

This won’t be a long review – there are plenty of those for this netbook. I spent a while deciding between the samsung and its competition but am glad I went with the samsung NC10 (Special Edition). Note that I upgraded the RAM to 2GB – very easy to do.

It performs as expected – great for browsing, easy to sling into a bag and take with me anytime, anywhere. Good for short trips to be able to take a look at digital photos. Great also to download rental movies/tv shows on to for long flights.

I have a ‘main’ pc at home for the heavy lifting work – coding, database work, ms office, photo editing etc. I have deliberately avoided any of those apps on the netbook and it flies along.

I would buy this agian (and may buy an extra one for my wife who seems to use this one more than I!)

Best Netbook!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is my first portable computer and I am very picky.

I have had this about a month now and all I can say is that I am very impressed. Well worth the extra for the bigger touch pad and battery.

I have used this at full power for 7.5 hours. Max processor, max brightness and playing games on the net. After 7.5 hours the warning came on that it needed to be charged. That impressed me the most.

Also I have big hands and I love the keyboard. It took me 5 minutes to adjust but it is very easy to navigate.

What else is there to say other than I am very happy with this netbook!

Long battery life
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this netbook because the extended battery life promised by the battery made it stand out from other models. I have not been disappointed. Even with fairly heavy use I have been able to get more than six hours before I’ve felt the need to plug in to recharge. This machine should easily last through a coast-to-coast flight. Everything about it is first rate.

Better than Samsung NC10 and N110
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The Samsung NC10 Special Edition from Amazon is much better than the Samsung NC10 (Samsung NC10-14GBK 10.2-Inch Black Netbook – 6 Cell Battery). I owned an NC10 prior to getting the NC10 SE. The SE has longer battery life and the trackpad is significantly larger and more responsive. It lacks some bells and whistles that the NC10 trackpad has such as “momentum” but scrolling in particular is much better controlled with the NC10 SE trackpad.

The N110 (Samsung N110-12PBK 10.1-Inch Black Netbook – 6 Cell Battery (9.5 Hours))trackpad is comparable in size to the NC10 SE’s trackpad. But the N110 has a glossy screen, while the NC10 and NC10 SE have matte screens which reduce annoying reflections.

This is a great netbook! I would consider the Samsung N120 over it for better sound, although the N120 keyboard is strange (position of Windows and tilde keys).

Perfect in every way
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
It is a fantastic little net book. Fast and the Wifi is terrific. i have installed about 20 programs into it without upgrading the Ram card and it still runs quick and smooth. The keyboard is amazing and I am a heavy set guy so my hands are very big and its amazing how great this keyboard is. I feel no difference in typing on this than a full size PC keyboard. I love the larger touch pad and the screen brightness and clarity is perfect.

I have never been so happy with a purchase on amazon.

Totally satisfied

The only thing I regret is how long it took to get this little gem. The key pad is superb. The touch pad is the best I have used out of five laptops. The screen is good. The size is wonderful–”one hand laptop.” Highly recommended for anyone who does not want to play DVD movies. Samsung built upon a solid foundation and tweaked a best seller into a quiet and cool little marvel.

Nice Netbook
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This net book works great. The only thing I have changed is the Ram Memory to 2 gigs. I changed that before even turning it on for the first time. Knowing that xp runs better with 2 gigs than 1 gig, from my home computer system. Portability is great. I have not had any problems in or out of the sunlight viewing the screen. It does what I bought it for.

This is the best netbook on the market
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve been lucky enough to play around with and test many of the newest netbooks out right now, and only a few even come close to the Samsung NC-10 in awesomeness. This model, and the N110, have the best keyboards of all the netbooks I’ve ever tried. The screen is great (matte, for those who care), the weight is balanced right, and it’s not heavy. Plus the battery delivers a solid 7.5 hours (in my experience) while using the internet constantly.

The only comparable netbooks are the Eee PC 1000HE and the Acer Aspire One 10-inch, but even they have some drawbacks on this. If you want the best netbook go for the NC-10 special edition or the Samsung N110 (which is almost exactly the same as this except for a different casing).

Samsung Netbook

This one is a keeper. Soooo much better carrying this on travel than my laptop. Not nearly as powerful or as quick, but does the job and is very reliable. Only real issue I have is they should include the 2 GB RAM instead of selling as extra – who would ever buy the used 1GB RAM chip. The little door to access the RAM chip also was a little tough to get off. I thought I was going to break it, but it came off OK after I read the online manual about upgrading the RAM to be sure how to get the cover off. Overall, very outstanding and long battery life!

Well worth it!

This product was a perfect fit for me – the 9.5 hours of battery life is verified. I am a heavy user with all the junk – 3 USB’s is great + keyboard is perfect (I have not even noticed any issues with the smaller keyboard). I have gotten lots of questions and stares with this netbook, and most recently took the DFW to LHR flight and never once had it charge it – the guy next to me was simply shocked as he had to carry two batteries just to last him 3 hours. My backpack is lighter than ever, and I could not be happier. The only missing piece to this unit is the CD rom, which I have discovered is a useless toy since I can download everything directly these days.

I love my netbook, as you can tell, and love this one!

Best Netbook Available To Date
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
It is really sad to see that Amazon no longer has these in stock and that availability keeps going between a couple of weeks and a couple of months.

I have purchased several netbooks for my staff to use when they are out on the job doing surveys. These things being light weight with long battery life and great displays seem to fit the bill. However, not all netbooks are created equally for sure. The 10.1″ Acer Aspire Ones have terrible track/mouse pads. Yes you could use a mouse, but that is just something extra to lug around. Then there is the Asus Eee PC 1000HE and it is a great netbook except for the keyboard, which they claim fixed the right shift key, but that is bogus. They used a tiny little shift key and being a touch typist it is very difficult for me to use it. I then purchased Samsung NC10 SE and not only does it have a great keyboard which allows for fast touch typing, but the track/mouse pad is great. I have finally found a netbook that I personally really like. Needless to say we returned the Acer’s and was fixing to do the same on Asus machines, when I discovered that Amazon was out of these NC10 SE. We would have purchased at least 6 more of these had they been in stock. Currently we are looking at the Samsung N110, but it seems no one has those in stock but Buy.com and I won’t do business with them because of their crappy return policy. So, now we patiently wait for the NC10 SE or the N110 to become available on Amazon so that we can buy the rest of our machines.

The only real issue I have with the NC10 SE is that the sound quality could be a bit better and it should be able to get a bit louder, but considering for what we are using these things for that is a minor issue.

I highly recommend this netbook! Maybe we’ll end up with a few Samsung N110′s if they get them in stock before the NC10 SE’s. The specs seem identical, but the N110′s have a red instead of silver trim.

Outstanding Machine
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is my first netbook and I’ve had it for about 3 weeks. So far, it has worked like a charm. As with others, I too upgraded the memory to 2 GB. Battery life is about 7 hours, but I had Bluetooth on throughout.

Instead of repeating the many nice things others have stated, I’ll include a tip for anyone encountering DVD audio problems. Along with the netbook I ordered the Samsung SE-S084B/RSBN External Slim USB DVD-Writer. It worked well in installing various applications. Testing the DVD playback ability, the video was fine but there was no audio. Oddly, the device played regular audio CDs just fine. I looked around online for a fix and found that a freely available codec pack (K-Lite Full Codec Pack) made things work.

I would have kept the DVD player except it had trouble writing (to CD or DVD). Most other users haven’t complained so perhaps it was just bad luck. I’m exchanging it for another DVD player.

But back to the netbook, it is fantastic! The special edition benefits are well worth the extra charge.

I love my samsung nc10 netbook
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I researched the purchase of a netbook for about 3 months before deciding on the samsung nc10 SE. I am totally happy with my decision. I have owned numerous laptops both PC and Apple and this netbook is my favorite by far. Some people say netbooks are underpowered or cheap but I have found this netbook does everything I need it to do and it is as well made as any of my other $1000 to $2500 laptops. The battery life is excellent. The screen size is excellent. It is fast and lite. The controls are intuitive and it has very little bloatware. I highly recommend this netbook. My wife has a 17 inch laptop and is always borrowing my nc10 and is now talking about getting one for herself because she likes it so much.
