Well I didn’t really plan on writing here so I’ll be short. Great for college. Not for games. Overheats really quickly if not on hard surface so the fans can be exposed. Shortish battery if you plan on using it out n about.

I won't restate what have already been covered. If you are looking for an inexpensive laptop that covers all the basic plus some, this is it. Internet, email, games, movie watching, and portable.

I am a techie and while I agree that all the components are not the top of the line, it is an AWESOME laptop from my wife's perspective!! The only thing that took some getting used to was the keyboard is like a full 101 PC keyboard. It has a full 10 key which shifts the QWERETY over a touch.

I would recommend it and after owning it for 3 months, I would buy one again! As far as the price goes, look around and don't pay about $420 for it. You should be able to find this unit for around $399-$419 after rebates.

Great Laptop

This Compaq CQ60-210US is a great laptop for about $399 (elsewhere) on Sale. The monitor seems huge with great quality, it boots up fast and is speedy on processing. The battery is short lived but that is par with a dual processor. We use it mostly at home for basic email, web surfing & games. A nice laptop, if you can search for deals and get a better price. Big deciding factor for us was the dual core processor. Twice the machine for the same price as a Walmart Single core processor. Be careful when comparing the 2! Windows Vista is not so bad, I thought I would hate it, but within the first 5 minutes, I had forgotten it was any different from XP. So, don’t weight your decision too much on that. CQ60 PRESARIO ALMOST PERFECT

I received my laptop the exact day Amazon said I would. I love it and have found little to complain about. However, the reason I did not give it 5 stars is that it is making a static noice. I e-mailed Amazon and the gave me the info for HP and told me to contact them. I did. They did remote testing and found everything ok. The noise is still there. I was told I could bring it to Best Buy and if they deemed it appropriate, they will send it back to HP. I have not done that as I am in the field and won’t be home for 2 weeks. I will write back about my experience then.

Great Laptop!

This is a great laptop!!! Its 2GB RAM memory makes it fast. The price is VERY reasenoble for this laptop. The Screen is VERY bright and crisp, the keyboard is very friendly to the way you type. Its number pad is super helpful (If you also use a lot a desktop).

If you want a Great value laptop with great characteristics buy this one.

I purchased the Compaq Presario CQ60-21OUS 15.6 Inch Laptop for my wife as we are full time RVers and don't have room for desk top machines.

This machine far exceeded my expectations when I ordered it. It looks nice and operates smooth; it is fast considering we are a long way from an AT&T tower and can't access 3G.

The Compaq has enough programing installed to satisfy someone like my wife that uses mostly the word processor, the installed games, and e mail. She also likes to store and work with digital photographs, which does require a better program than the one that came installed on the computer.

The display is bright and clear, a pleasure to use. The computer is lght enough to be comfortable on a lap and also runs cool enough that heat is not a problem.

All in all, we are very happy with this computer and if need be, we would purchase another one like it.

Excelent laptop for the price

I Bought this laptop primarily for programming, and occasionally converting videos from one format to another, besides the usual stuff, like browsing the internet and minor playing.

I must say that i was impressed by the product as a whole, from the design, the bright wide screen, the 5-in-1 memory reader, the full numeric keypad (a plus for me, because i usually work with excel, and typing number is much easier that way), and the power of its processor, which, albeit not being a Core 2 Duo, performs very well in multitasking with everyday applications.

The cons are a few, but i should mention them as well: No HDMI output, no PCMCIA expansion slots, no integrated webcam and no firewire port.

In particular, i dont need any of the things however, i think a potential customer should know it just in case, to make a more informed decision.

Overall i think this laptop is worth the $531 i paid for it, and would recommend it to whoever needs a nice feature-packed laptop for a low price.
