HP is not want it used to be
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I previously was loved all HP products. I owned my previous HP Pavillion Laptop for over six years and it did not have any major issues. So I bought another HP as my new laptop. This one is pure disappointment. It started to work slow within few weeks. It does not matter what we do we cannot improve its performance. After a month or so computer started to crash to the point that nothing could turn it on then randomly start working as if nothing happened. Finnaly, six months into use it crashed again and I was not able to restart it. After hours with HP help from India, whom it is very hard to understand. It took so much time for me to spell all my information out. He kept on asking the same questiosn over and over. With techichian’s help, I was able to start my computer but after all the setting that he suggested my computer crashes every time I close the screen. I am dreading calling India again…. This computer cannot support any graphic games. My husband tried downloading GTA and there is no way you can play it on this computer.

HP is not what it used to be… look for quality somewhere else. In addition, check if the company uses Indian workers as customer service and avoid them you will save yourself hours.

For me it is time to look for different company for my electronic products.

My wife bought this laptop the same time I bought my ACER Extensa laptop. After a month, her laptop is glitchy, buggy and slow. No matter what we try (formatting the disk), reinstalling the OS, virus scans, memory scans/cleans the only thing we can see is the hardware is cheep and lousy. HP service was no help either. This is probally one of the things HP adopted from their new “Compaq” partners who make the worst computers known to mankind and suffer from random computer strokes or other computer death releated problems. The ACER Extensa laptop is flawless and the same price as this machine except in the ACER for this price you get 4gb ram, 350 gb HD and an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. We have traded this bugged laptop in for another ACER EXtensa. So much happier.

it has everything that i want.blue-ray would be nice, but in this case price would be higher i guess.and having 32″ LCD TV i don’t really need Blue-ray.

works fast, nice look, controls are easy to access.remote control that comes with it is a really good thought.very compact and easy.camera and mic works OK.sound good be louder, but i guess i’m the one who expects a laptop to have a home theater sound))).good laptop for a good price

Defective Mother Board
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
The HP PC’s are TRASH in my opinion. I bought the DV6226US in March 2007, and my System Board fried just 7-1/2 months later. They replaced it, and 8 months later if fried again – and HP wouldn’t cover it. With the excessive heat no wonder! A system board crashing is rare but 2 boards in 16 months is nothing but defective product – pure and simple. DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT

The laptop HP Pavillion DV6910US was even more complete and versatile than anticipated.

Super loaded with extra features it has become my prized and most

useful of all my PC’s.

I can’t find words to describe this beauty I now own and enjoy.

I was using a Dell sort of similar but 45% pricier to the HP Pavillion.

I was blown away by the speed, clarity and ease to use this model with an incredible bargain of a price.

As promissed was built to my specifications and arrived 3 days before due.

Shoulda bought a MAC
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I bought my HP DV6910us at Circuit City in mid-July 2008. Laptop worked fine until December. I’m a very light user, mosting doing email and web surfing. Computer turns off frequently and then will not start for perhaps 30 minutes. I can use it for about 15-25 minutes and then it just turns off.

Circuit City tried to repair the laptop in January 09. HP has attempted to fix it twice and tomorrow it will be sent back for the third time in three months.

I’m hoping for either a replacement product or a refund.

Shoulda bought a MAC

HP Pavilion DV6910 review

After looking around, I decided that this computer offered a lot of bang for my buck. Shipping was very quick and communication was excellent from the Amazon supplier. The computer arrived unscathed via UPS.

It offers a lot of features that I wanted, e.g. fast processor, large hard drive, built in camera. It also has finger print ID–a feature I wasn’t convinced I needed. It is an interesting accessory, however, providing quick start up.

After having the computer about a month, I’d say it fits my needs well. The only downside is a HUGE battery. I was not expecting something this large. When installed, it creates a large “bump” on the bottom of the computer. I hope it redeems itself in long, unconnected operating times. It does significantly add to the weight of the computer.

UPDATE: I had an issue with the battery and a pop up error message. The computer would not function using the battery and I had a message that there was low disk space on the D portion of the harddrive. After several hours with HP technician–4 of them–they agreed to having me send it back for repair. I just got it back–quick turn around time–but ABSOLUTELY DEPLORABLE service. The computer was returned with a form saying that HP did not service this computer!!! I should have bought the Mac!! This is the last HP product I’ll buy!!

This laptop from HP Pavillion serves all my basic needs. The widescreen display is particularly handy when watching DVDs. Applications run faster than in some of the other models I’ve used, due to the processor, and I haven’t come across many issues with the product in general. However, I do have a few complaints about this laptop. As any electronic will, using it for several hours causes the machine to get rather hot. However, with the vents wrapped around the back and bottom of the laptop, it tends to overheat and requires a fan. Though with the position of the air vents, there is no fan on the market that it sits on properly. The battery is chunky and gives a bit of a tilt to the machine if you lie it flat. Also, the DVD burner somehow managed to unistall within the first two weeks and I had to manually go in and reinstall the drivers. Other than these few complaints, however, I think it’s a pretty good laptop.
