With eight amazing colors, a new curved design, and great new features, iPod nano rocks like never before. The Genius Playlist feature finds the songs in your music library that go great together and makes a playlist for you. With its built-in accelerometer, iPod nano is made to move. Give it a shake, and it shuffles to a different song in your library. Turn it on its side to flip through your album art in Cover Flow. And tilt, move, and play accelerometer-inspired games (games available separately). Watching movies, TV shows, and video is even more fun on the sharp 2-inch screen. And your photos (up to 7,000 of them) look great in portrait or landscape view. Available in 8 GB and 16 GB models, the 8 GB iPod nano puts up to 2,000 songs or 8 hours of video in your pocket.

A Musical Genius
Say you’re listening to a song you really like and want to hear other tracks that go great with it. The Genius Playlist feature finds the songs in your music library that go great together and makes a Genius Playlist for you. It’s like having your own highly intelligent, personal DJ.

Find Your Music Faster
It’s even easier to find the song you want to hear. Now you can view your album art in Cover Flow. Or just press and hold the Center button to browse by album or artist. When you find the right song, press the Center button to add it to your on-the-go playlist.

Rock and Roll Over
Tilt or turn iPod nano on its side, and you’ll listen, watch, and play in new ways. You can flip through your album art with Cover Flow. Or, vertically speaking, see more albums and artists on the screen at one time.

Shake Your Groove Thing
Sometimes, we could all use a little unpredictability. And now you can shake to change your music. Just give iPod nano a shake, and it shuffles to a different song in your music library. You’ll always be surprised by what you’ll hear.

Let the Games Begin
Now you can get in on games made especially for iPod nano and the accelerometer. They respond to the way you move, so they’re immersive, addictive, and a blast. The iPod nano comes with Maze, which lets you work your way through vast mazes by tilting and moving. You can find even more games on the iTunes Store.

Even Your Photos Rock
Pull hundreds of photos from your pocket and share them wherever you go. Hold iPod nano upright and see your photos in portrait view. Turn the player on its side to see them in landscape. Your photos look beautiful in their proper aspect ratio on the vibrant, 320-by-240-resolution display.

The World’s Biggest Small Screen
Watching movies, TV shows, and videos is big fun on iPod nano. And the high-resolution picture looks crisp and vivid on the 2-inch widescreen display. So you can always have a little video with you.

Reduced Environmental Impact
The iPod nano embodies Apple’s continuing environmental progress. It is designed with the following features to reduce environmental impact:

  • Arsenic-free glass
  • Brominated flame retardant-free
  • Mercury-free
  • PVC-free
  • Highly recyclable aluminum enclosure

Amazing looks, bright screen. The iTunes interface is horrendous, the usability of the iPod could also be improved
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This is an incredibly small and appealing player. Looks are great. The sound quality is excellent. The screen is bright and clear. The build quality appears to be solid.

However…

The iTunes user interface has to be one of the worst in the industry today, especially one that accompanies a device as successful as the iPod. Any hopes of fine-grained control over the songs you sync to the iPod are dashed, nay, crushed, by the iTunes interface. Note to Apple: please send some of your software usability engineers to Google for a crash course. Probably heresy, but Microsoft also seems to do a better job in this department.

The iPod controls are not very clear on how to turn up or down the volume on the device. Which is surprising, given how the other functions are so obvious and intuitive.

Overlook these two cribs, and this is an excellent device. Well… almost.

I love it!

I have the 4th Generation Ipod Nano in orange. It looks beautiful and it works perfectly. I do wish it would have come with more detailed instructions for setting up as there are alot of options in the menu and the buttons I push that I have no idea what they mean.

I bought a cover for it to protect it while it’s in my purse, but would also recommend some kind of screen cover to cover the glass part from scratches, etc…

Great Price & Great Product

This item came in the perfect color with double the size that we were originally going to buy and at a great savings from Amazon. I am so glad that consumers can still get great deals, if we just look for them. Thank you.

worst shipment
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I ordered this item from amazon for my wife’s birthday. I chose regular shipping and i got an email saying that I will receive this by 17th and her birthday was on 19th. I did not receive it until 20th and I called them back. They had no idea why the order was not shipped on time. I could not give her a present as I promised. Do not trust them with shipping on time. It seems you have to order a month in advance to receive it on time.

AMAZING!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This Ipod is the best! All the people who say that coverflow is an issue, are just looking for something to complain about. it is sleek, thin, and really portable. you can put it anywhere. DO NOT BUY IHOME FOR THIS! apple has made it incompatable with existing ihomes, and they are in the process of creating one right now. The powersaver mode is great, and the shake to shuffle is nice. you can turn both coverflow and shake/shuffle off with a touch of a button, and it has many great features such as contacts, stopwatch, games, world time, and much more! the only thing i suggest buying with this ipod is a clear case and a wall charger. this ipod can get scratched up in a matter of seconds. overall, a really awesome product!

ipod nano 4th gen.
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I had an ipod shuffle that I really liked but it didn’t work with my new car’s radio system, so I needed to upgrade to a nano. I chose a 4th generation nano because I don’t need the video element in the car. I’m not used to using the wheel, so it annoys me a little, but it does make it nice and compact with no buttons sticking out. I like the way my shuffle clamped on to me rather than me needing to buy something else to be able to wear the nano. I’ve really only used it in the car, and I love the sound and clarity of the music on ipod, and it works wonderfully. I’ve had it maybe a month and I’ve only had to restore it once but then I’m older, and technology doesn’t come as easily to me as it seems to come to these young things. ^_^

Love it

This is my first Ipod and I was not dissapointed with it at all. Actually I take that back. The first Ipod they sent me had a dead battery and would not charge, but they were good enough to send me a new Ipod free of charge. I have had it for about 2 weeks now and am loving every minute of it. I will never go back to a regular MP3 player again.

Wish I hadn’t sold the older model…
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I hate the new model, essentially because of two things: the extremely short battery life, compared to the previous iPod Nano, and the compatibility issues with the charging.

The short battery life is something I expected of this generation, since they included video and a larger screen, which are both great pros for this iPod, and make the short battery life livable with.

However, taking away the compatibility to charge with non-Apple products is unnecessary and disrespectful to clients. I rarely plug in my iPod to the computer – I only do so when I have to add new music. I use my iPod mostly with other devices which have charging capabilities – like the Griffin RoadTrip, the JBL speakers and the iHome – none of which can charge my iPod, making it very inconvenient for me to recharge it, specially when the iPod dies in my car because RoadTrip can’t charge it and I’m forced to listen to the crappy radio. We already buy your damn ipods, which are essentially the same as every other goddamned mp3 player out there, but you force us to get rid of our now obsolete systems so we can buy your crap. Damn I do hope your market share goes way down.

liquid sensor
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Unfortunately you cannot run or exercise with this product. Perspiration will activate the liquid sensor. If you have any thing go wrong with the nano it will not be covered under warranty no matter what the problem. They will offer a replacement product at a reduced cost of $99. Throwing good money after bad. Bad business.
