What a disappointment – and WASTE!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I did a lot of research trying to find a cost effective printer to use for photo printing. I had a HP 5740 that was doing a decent job, but wanted to get a printer to use for my “good” shots. I chose this printer.
What a mistake. It worked fine at first, but then shortly, started giving me fits. It will print about 2/3 of a photo on a sheet and then kick it out. From that point on, it takes about 6-8 attempts to finish, putting about a quarter of an inch on a page. I have wasted a large number of premium photo paper and a lot of expensive ink.
I spent almost two hours on the phone with an HP rep. Let’s see – we updated drivers; installed and uninstalled the printer; updated the HP photo printing package; uninstalled the HP software and installed the latest version. Still no luck. To confirm it was not a computer/photo problem, I tried, and successfully printed it on my old 5740.
I am fairly comfortable around computers and know what is and is not on my machine. I have invested all sorts of time and effort trying to figure this out and will stick to it until I find a work around. I feel very sorry for anyone who does basic photo editing and wants to print to this beast expecting it to go smoothly. So far, I have had more luck winning lottery scratch tickets than I have getting this to print right on the first or even second attempt!
COMPLETE GARBAGE

I had a previous HP that failed in 13 months. After saying i would not buy another HP, i went and purchased the D7560 for the CD printing. Well, it has been about 5 months and i got the “ink system failure”. i tried cleaning and resetting the printer. The India tech support are a bunch of idiotic morons that have zero common sense. This internals of this printer reeks of cheap flimsy plastic. By the way, i had the extra capacity inks that were about a month old and still full. After i got the failure i went to the HP site. I did exactly as they said to resolve the problem. After resetting the printer and cleaning the contacts it used almost all the ink in all 5 ink cartridges. Can your hear “flush”? that’s my money going down the toilet!! Based off my experience and the experiences of others, HP makes some of the crappiest products on the market. That includes their laptops.
Should be Photo’dumb’ D7560 printer
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
In several months of trying to achieve acceptable photo printing, including an online session lasting several hours, this printer has been incapable of achieving color reproduction that is even close to the digital image. The problem appears to be in excessive red coloration, however, nothing has been suggested as yet that would correct the problem.
I plan to give this printer to someone who does not plan on doing much photo printing and purchasing another. I will be reading the existing printer reviews to find an alternative vendor.
Amazon Rocks! HP Support doesn’t

Amazon ***** (5/5) HP 7560 ** (2/5)
Luckily I bought this printer from Amazon. The first one I received was DOA and Amazon replaced it ( Amazon ROCKS!!! ). It would not even print the head alignment sheet of paper since it came up with “paper jam” messages out of the box. I read the manual, looked at the HP support web page, looked at news forums for possible answers but none would fix the “paper jam” message. I emailed HP support and got a really lame “read the manual” reply. I worked for HP as an electrical engineer from 1978-2000 and have owned 6 different HP printers. I generally consider myself as technology competent. I sent 2 more emails to support but no help.
I finally asked for a replacement unit from Amazon. After this I told HP to close my support request because Amazon was replacing the unit. Then I got an email from HP support telling me that they would replace the unit…. too late…
The new unit worked out of the box. The first two pictures I printed looked incredible!! Great detail and color. The third was green. I used the head cleaning utility and re-aligned the print heads and the pictures look good again. I am crossing my fingers with this printer. It has great potential but is very temperamental.
I haven’t tried the dreaded HP Windoze CD printer software. I am a linux user and I am hoping the HPLIP ( HP Linux Imaging and Printing Software ) works better. The fact that HP supported linux was a deciding factor in buying the printer.

5 stars for HP Photosmart D7560 printer

This printer deserves 5 stars in all its attributes. It was easy to set up and is easy to use. The print quality, especially for photos, is outstanding.
Great CD/DVD printer
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I was looking for an economical way to print nice colorful CDs and DVDs for a small business of mine. I had previously used the laser engraving method but was not pleased with its clarity. I researched some very expensive disc labeling machines but learned that HP had a line of Photosmart printers that would also print directly on the CD/DVD. I would agree the included software is poor if you want to vary from the designs included, but I developed a Photoshop template that works nicely. This HP D7560 it prints much faster than the laser method I was previously using (Lightscribe), DVDs look professionally made, and the only negative feature would be the amount of ink it uses. But, it’s still much cheaper than the $1,500-$2,000 disc printers on the market. I would highly recommend this printer.

I bought the HP D7560 to replace an HP D5160 that went belly up after printing mostly CDs/DVDs for the past two years.
This is the first HP printer driver software I’ve installed in recent memory that went in without a hitch. I was relieved that I didn’t have to call HP’s support people in India (or where ever), as their only solution is to reinstall the software—over and over again. (Useless support.)
I’ve used Surething label printing software for several years, and had no intention of changing because of the new printer. At first, the label printing software (version 5.0) would not recognize the D7560. I downloaded the version 5.2 update, and things now work great.
Picture quality is great, as is CD/DVD label quality. Too soon to have an opinion on ink usage. I do all of my printing in fast draft mode, and the quality is good–even on the CD/DVD medium.
Great print quality!

I am very happy with the HP Photosmart 7560! Great print quality! I purchased mainly to print directly on to CD/DVDs. I am very pleased.
CONTINUES TO USE COLORED INK WHEN SET ON GRAYSCALE
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I bought this printer about three months ago and was satisfied with it until I discovered that it continues to use colored ink when set on grayscale (Black and White only) setting. Upon further research online I found this problem to be characteristic of the HP brand in general and certain other brands as well. Very sneaky, wouldn’t you say? So unless you have money to burn on ink, look for another printer. Or buy a separate black and white printer if you can fine one.

We have only used this HP D7560 printer for a few days and thus far the print and color are acceptable. However, if you expect to use a standard USB A-B cable you might have a problem. Our previous HP7960 (an excellent printer) had a USB “B” port on the front of the printer. It was here we plugged in our laptop, which had a USB “A” port(standard A-B cable). This allowed us to do laptop printing while still maintaining our USB A-B connection on the back of the printer for our desktop.
The D7960 requires that you acquire a USB A-A cord to accomplish the same front connection. Cost of a A-A? About $35.00 for 10′(Best Buy). Or about 1/3 the cost of the printer itself. Do not bother to call HP about this. After a frustrating one hour on the phone, they grudging and argumentatively acknowledged that the problem existed. Then, suggested I go elsewhere for the A-A cord since HP sells none such.
If you want the HP D7560 and expect to use the front USB port, check your requirements before ordering. Search for an appropriate USB cord and see if the purchase is justified based upon total cost including a special A-A cord.
Amazon purchase.
Works great in Linux
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This printer works pretty much out of the box in Kubuntu. Well, as out of the box as any device does when you’re in Linux. I’d probably give it 5 stars but I haven’t tried CD printing or printing from an SD card yet. The only quirk about it so far is that the power button doesn’t respond as quickly as you’d expect. Sometimes you hit it and nothing happens. Hold it down for a few seconds and there it is.
There is one annoyance with either the driver or how KDE handles it. You have to define the paper tray from the Printers control panel. Everything else you define from the print dialog. I bet there’s a way around that but I don’t know what it is right now.
Don’t Do It!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
This printer is the biggest piece of electronic garbage I’ve ever purchased. It gobbles up ink, it is very user UN-friendly, it’s set up operation every time it is turned on takes an incredible amount of time, and I continually get pop-ups trying to sell me more HP stuff. I’ve had this printer for a few months, and I’m GIVING it away….complete with a complete set of new ink cartridges. It has NEVER printed a decent print since I’ve had it. I contacted HP and was completely ignored. Don ‘t even think about getting one of these.
Nice printer

Nice printer with a nice price.I did some research and I think it paid off.I am very pleased with this printer.I have a dell computer, but I like Hp printers better.I also have an old HP Deskjet 5740 printer too.Ink dries fast to HP photo paper, which is good.HP photosmart D7560 is very noisy, but it does the job.I have it for a month now.I love it.Amazon is fast on shipping it to you too. Thanks Amazon.
This printer should cost twice as much “GREAT QUALITY”
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I am very pleased with this HP D7560, I have been using a Epson for a couple of years. The diference like night and day, the photo’s that I processed are professional quality. I am completely sold on HP, the proof is in the picture.
Great Photo Printer – HUGE Ink Hog
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I bought this printer because it was only $100. How could you go wrong getting a photo printer at that price? Until… you quickly run out of ink and realize that it costs a fortune to replace cartridges.
Before I go into the ink, I have to say that the photo quality is great. I use HP photo paper and I love how the colors are so bright and the images are so crisp.
I really like that I can print 4×6 borderless prints on 4×6 paper. It can also print up to 8×10.
This printer has 5 ink cartridges: cyan, magenta, yellow, black, and photo black. If you are in printing or design, you may know that all full color printed pieces are made up of the first four colors. The addition of photo black gives a rich, deep black and creates better contrast. The combination of these inks makes for a great print.
However, the ink disappears from the cartridges very quickly and at about $15 a cartridge (times 5 cartridges…) You can buy XL cartridges at a higher price that last quite a bit longer and you can buy combo packs at a slight discount.
This printer has the ability to print on (printable) CD’s and has a dedicated slot for insertion of the blank CD.
The bottom line is that this gives me the ability to print at random and very quickly. I took it to a tea party I held for my daughter. I took photos of all the girls in their party dresses (and white gloves) and while they were decorating picture frames, I printed out the pictures and they left the party with a great memento. I did not need to bring a computer since this printer has card slots built in. There is also a little touch screen display that walks you through color correction, cropping, etc. if you want that control at the printer and not the computer.
HP has great software tools and a low toner reminder system. There are two trays, a 4×6 single print tray and an 8.5 x 11 tray. I’m pretty sure it costs more to print from this printer than to take your images to other stores.
I really like this printer but it is a convenience product, not a money saver.
