Great product

Fantastic product. I am using it at home in Argentina and it works great. The only disadvantage is that it takes a bit for the satellite to connect, but everything else is perfect. I would definitely recomend it.

Always losing satellite reception
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I’ve used or attempted to use this GPS in Colorado, New Mexico, Washington, and Oklahoma. Every time I’ve had difficulty finding and keeping satellite reception. I have to reset it to re-establish connection with a satellite, which I really don’t want to do while I’m driving. I’m frequently frustrated by it, but when it can find satellites, it works fine.

It’s super expensive to get updates for the Garmin. Tom-Tom has them for free. Think of that before purchasing.

One of the best product

you cannot go wrong with garmin. a bit costly product cause it has extra features. If you are looking for just a GPS then save money and buy some other garmin product otherwise it is an amazing product. If you buy a new product or probably refurbished you get a free map update from gramin which is somewhat helpful and there are myriads of other options on Garmin website. Amazon has this excellent table which let you compare the different models of Garmin.

Just what I wanted

This GPS is compact, very informative and a great price. The only thing a GPS can’t do is tell you to avoid potentially unsafe neighborhoods.

Don’t expect greatness

If you don’t have a clue how to get to your destination, this is a wonderful tool. It may take you there by a slightly illogical route but it will get you there. The feature which displays the speed limit in the area is outstanding. I live in Pensacola where the speed limit can change 3 times withjin a 10 mile section of highway and use that feature to keep me out of trouble. But beware, it is not 100% correct 100% of the time. Close though:)

Point A to Point B for the geographically challenged!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have been accused of having the world’s worst sense of direction, and this GPS is a godsend for me. I had never owned a GPS before and was a little nervous about whether I could figure out how to use it or not, but my fears were completely unfounded. From the first time I used it, I have loved it. It is very user-friendly, and gets me where I need to go without getting lost. The time estimate is very accurate, and the routes are easy to follow. Every now and then the search function is a little slow, and I wish that it was easier to extend the search range, but other than that, this GPS has exceeded my expectations and kept me on time and on schedule on countless occasions.

Item arrived in timely fashion. Got as a birthday gift for our “directionally impaired” 17 year old niece. Since her birthday is October 30th she hasn’t opened the gift and tried it yet, but that was what she wanted. Our choice was based on an article in Consumer Reports magazine.

Wife Loves Nuvi 205W!!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We bought the 205W on the recommendatin of a friend.

My wife says the 205W is the best gift she has EVER received! It has freed her from the fear of getting lost. She can now confidently get in her car and drive to any destination. She also loves the fact that it predicts her arrival time. We are planning on getting them for all of three of our daughters for Christmas.

Outstanding!

Electronics Expo IS THE WORST COMPANY ON AMAZON!
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
The Garmin Nuvi 205W is a good product if it isn’t sent broken the first time. I warn everyone not to purchase anything from Electronics Expo. This company sends out bad electronics then drags there feet when it come to the RMA process. I ordered an item on August 5th 2009 and as of today August 26th 2009 I still have not received the GPS yet. I’am just informing people about Electronics Expo and the crappy business that they do, just dont order from them and you will get a good GPS. This GPS is nice overall though, but there is a few features it is lacking like the FM Traffic feature which is a very helpful. But the wide screen along with the easy to features that it has is a cant miss if your looking for your first GPS. Just stay away from Electronics Expo whatever you do!

One Great GPS!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Having never used a GPS before, I bot this for my daughter, who gets lost every easily. She let me use it on a recent trip and I was surprised how useful it was. We actually arrived at our destination at the exact minute the GPS said we would. It is very user friendly and with the 4″ inch screen, very easy to read while driving. I’m actually thinking about purchasing one for myself.

Does the job, most of the time

Whatever you decide to purchase, make sure you purchase the wide-screen GPS units. The wide-screen is a must and it is worth the extra money. The non-wide-screens are VERY small. This unit has a wide-screen and has really nice applications. For example, we wanted to visit some wineries in a certain area and we were able to look them up with a few touches of the screen. When we type in addresses, we usually are taken to the right location. However, a few times we were taken to some random locations. But these locations were not too far off from the real location. Maybe I didn’t have updated maps uploaded, not too sure. But all in all, a great wide-screen navigator.

Great User Friendly GPS. Gets you where you want to go!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I had an older model GPS that was just too hard to figure out and I could have gotten there on foot faster. This Garmin is so user friendly it is just a pleasure to use. I highly recommend this item for all ages. My grown son has one and now I do too.
