We have enjoy playing it
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Our family has enjoyed this game. It is definitely a bit tricky at first, but our 4 year old and 6 year old have mastered it and love playing it.
worst game ever
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I really wish i read the other reviews before i got this game. not only is it difficult for the kids but adults can’t manuever either. i spent more time stuck in a corner than actually driving. karts are too hard to control, my kids got frustrated and gave up after about 3 minutes, i only lasted about 15. this game belongs in the trash.
Terrible design, terrible game.

Please learn from our mistake and do not buy this game. The controls are absolutely horrible, the graphics are awful, and the game itself is unimiganitive in every respect. This is hands-down the worst game I have ever played for the Wii console. Mario Kart Wii and NASCAR Kart Wii are both excellent games, and both are much better options that are worth the higher price.
I refuse to buy even the candy after playing this game

This may the worst video game I have ever played in my 35 years on this planet. The graphics are merely adequate at best, and that’s the high point of the game.
The sound effects are as nerve-racking as anything you will ever encounter this side of a Guantanamo interrogation room.
The actual game play is laughable. The tracks are poorly designed, darkly lit and feature an infinite number of curbs, bumps and corners to stop your racer in his candy-coated tracks. While you try to disengage from these barriers, an unholy screech blares from the speakers.
So, while the candy may not; I certainly wish this game *would* melt in my hands. At least then I would be rid of it.
Don’t waste your money

It was very difficult to control the kart. The design is dark and boring. There is no hint or instruction on how to advance to next level. There is no instruction on how to unlock tracks and karts. Time and money wasted totally. If you want to feel frustrated, play this game.
Their only selling point WAS they beat Mario Kart Wii to market…terrible game!

Brutal, absolutely brutal. Difficult to learn to play and lousy graphics and bad game once you finally get the hang of it anyway. Mario Kart for Wii (not surprisingly) is so much better I can’t begin to tell you. In fact any thought of a comparison is not even fair – this game isn’t close. Save your money on this one!
Why is it I liked it?

Apparently I’m definitely in the minority in my opinion of the game. Given the total investment it is a value. The controls are sensitive and that can be frustrating to newcomers. Once you get “feel” for the game it becomes more intuitive and much easier. My six-year-old daughter and eight-year-old son had difficulty at first, but are now unlocking tracks on their own. The first night I had it, I unlocked all of the tracks and collected enough “chocolate coins” to use any kart in the arsenal. To unlock tracks you simply win on that course in tournament play, then it becomes available for any kind of play. Oddly enough the “house” track, the second or third track you’ll race, was (for me) harder than all of the tracks you’ll unlock later in the game. Despite another reviewer’s criticism, the kart does have reverse by pressing the B button. The B button or A button will apply the brakes. Some of the other criticisms were obviously because the reviewer did not read the enclosed instruction manual. This is not a game that you can just keep the throttle button down the whole time and finish the course. It takes a little finesse, but that is what makes the game challenging and fun. The graphics are not that bad. Of course I am from the Atari generation, so your mileage may vary. I’ll agree that the sound effects and commentary do get old. And as others have said there are some dark tunnels on some of the tracks. But overall if you can get it for 15 bucks like I did, you’ll get your money’s worth. It’s really unfair to compare this game to Mario Kart which cost three times as much.
No wonder it was on sale

Looked cute and who doesn’t love the M&M characters. Hard to play to say the least, Not worth buying at all.
Not as bad as others claim

My son received this in his stocking, and we have really enjoyed it in fact he’s begging me at this very moment to put it back in the machine. we do not own any other racing wii games to compare it to though.
The controls have to be held with a super light hand, I myself have played it numerous times.
I do agree it is hard to navigate some courses and the course is NOT marked well on most courses.
As far as the reverse, press the B button and it will reverse you.
My main complaints would be the controls are light to the touch meaning you dont’ have to do much with the control to have your car go crazy. and the steering wheel in reverse mode (again use the B button to reverse) is not like when you are driving a real car, it is the opposite.
My likes would be, it’s not violent, and there are lots and lots of tracks and game styles to choose from. I paid $14.99 at K-mart and thought it was worth the money as another game to add to our growing collection.
It certainly is not the best game out there but was fun for a cheap game. Maybe you should rent it before you buy it to see if you like it. A lot will have to do with your own skill with the remote and driving games.
Doesn’t live up to expectations.

This game would have rivaled MarioKart if it would have been programmed correctly, instead it disappoints as badly as Desktop Racing.
Graphics are horrible even for a ‘lesser’ system, most of the time you can’t find the track and/or your car.
Car options are non-existant.
No steering assist for younger children.
This game is so bad, I can’t even eat M&M’s anymore!
Doesn’t stand a chance against Mario Kart Wii
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
This game is HORRIBLE!!!! You can’t use any items in the game so that zeros out any chance of messing around with your opponents. And whenever you bump into a wall (which is very common since the controls are very bad), you retrack making you bump again! This is soooo irritating!! I’m just going to keep play Mario Kart Wii and pretend I never played this game.
what a waste of potential

If M&M Kart racing had been designed and programed like Mario Kart, it might be a reasonable game in value. But even at $[...], it’s still a waste of money. The graphics are much, MUCH worse than Mario Kart. The controls are very difficult to work, so much so that it’s no fun. You’re forever getting caught in corners, or walls, or otherwise just stuck on something. By the time you get yourself free and back on track, the game is over. Even after unlocking them all, there just aren’t that many courses. The little m&m characters are cute but but not cute enough to justify buying this game. I was fortunate to borrow it; we will for sure not buy it. It is SO bad that it makes me not want to buy other m&m games for fear that they too are as sloppily programed. This game shoud be in a Happy Meal as a giveaway or maybe as a promotion where you send in xx m&m UPC codes.
Frustrating

My 7 year old and I just sat down to play this game. First the directions on how to use the Wii controller went by so fast we couldn’t read them so we plowed on hoping we’d figure it out. We finally figured out how to hold the controller and tried a one person race. We couldn’t get out of the corners and the noise of the screeching tires prompted my son to mute the T.V.!!!!! This game is awful and hard to learn as an adult – I’m sorry my son has to try to learn without my help! Might have to trade this one in for something else!
Novelty at best
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Just as other reviewers stated the controls are difficult and you run into everything. No maps, dark scenes, and poor control handling make this game a poor selection.
I have owned this game for awhile now. I am an avid M&M fan and collector. I thought this game like other driving skill games would be loads of fun. IT IS NOT. I gave it a 1-star for fun and 2-star because of the M&M characters.
Zoo games just makes bad games period. I own another M&M game- M&M adventures, also made by Zoo games. I wish M&Ms or Mars would cancel their contract and find a new game vendor, because I like the idea of M&Ms in video games and the concepts are good but the games SUCK.
A good review

That’s the game. I saved you $20. Go buy something nice
Just terrible
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Our son got this with some money he saved up. He was excited after playing Mario Kart but after playing the game for a few minutes it became clear that this game is just terrible. Its beyond difficult to control the cars and go around the very bad tracks. My son got frustrated very quickly and after playing it myself for a few minutes I can understand. Save your money, or kids money, and don’t bother with this terrible game.
Less than 5 minutes before you hate it
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
If I could give it zero stars I would. Within a few minutes of playing, both my kids told me they hated it. I gave it a shot thinking it couldn’t be that bad but they were right. The 1st race we played was so dark I couldn’t see the track. The arrows pointing the way down the city streets were placed so you would turn at the wrong time and hit a wall. Backing up was near impossible so you spend quite a bit of time watching your character vibrate down a wall until his cart turns. If you buy this after reading these reviews you must really hate your kids.
Why do they hate us so much?
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
That’s the only thing I could think of. M&Ms hates us all and never wants us to play video games again.
The controls are terrible. The tracks are a mess. You get caught on every little thing along the edges of the tracks and guess what? No reverse! You want to fling the Wii remote at the screen in rage after just a few attempts at making a circuit. The graphics are uninspired and the audio is wretched. My kids refused to put it back in after one play session.
Save your money! Save your sanity! Save yourselves! Do not buy this game!
Get Mario Kart or Excitebots instead!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Normally I’m too busy to write a review, but this game sucked so bad that I’m making an exception. The tracks are absolutely rediculous! You can’t take more than 2 corners without running into a wall and stopping DEAD. Than you have to back up and try to continue forward until the next wall. Really, did anyone playtest this game?? Mario Kart is so much better and the graphics are twice as crisp.
Don’t bother!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I did not like this game. The kart was very difficult to control but the game was also very boring on top of that. I tried it twice and then sold it.
Not impressed
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
It’s difficult to control the cars, and the many obstacles in the path of the included “courses” become frustrating very quickly. My older son who enjoys other racing games tired of this one after a few plays.
Not reccommended.
There are better games available
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I found the controls very difficult. The tracks are nothing like actual race tracks. This game barely qualifies as a racing game.
My 8 year old son loves it, but takes some getting used to.
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
My 8 year old son really wanted this game, so we came to Amazon to check out the reviews. Wow, they were not good. One person even went as far as saying something to the effect that if after reading these reviews you still purchase it, you must not love your child…that review devastated my son! He said he really wanted it, but if buying it for me meant I didn’t love him, he didn’t want it…watch what you write folks!
We were at K-Mart the other day, my son strayed into the video game area and found this game for $14.99 and asked if we could get it even though the reviews on Amazon weren’t good. I agreed to and we have played it 3 nights in a row. He told me last night that this is his favorite game we have and we have several. I asked if he likes it better than Mario Kart and Spider Man Friend or Foe and he said “Yes!”
As for myself, I’m 40 years old and do get frustrated with the game on a couple of the screens, which you have to win to open others. But for the most part, it was worth the money. I do suggest playing it with the wheel, it makes the game more fun and I think it makes the game easier to play too.
So, go with what you think you might like. It’s not a big investment and if you, or your child, think you will like it, give it a try…you can always sell it here or on ebay later.
Buy Something Else

My kids (14/9/8) received this game for our Wii at Christmas. They had a very difficult time learning how to play so they did not want to play it. I sat down with them and we picked up the hang of the game. It was very difficult for me to play because of the way the game is set up. We played on a large flat screen TV and in dual mode, I could hardly tell where I was supposed to drive. Most racing games have a map feature that tracks where you are on the track and lets you anticipate the turns. This game not only does not have this, it puts messaging across the screen disrupting your view. In addition, some of the darker areas were like driving in a tunnel and I could hardly see where I was going.
The M&M characters were cute but this is too hard for younger kids to master and poorly designed to call it a racing game. Strongly recommend a do not buy.
