Does the Call of Duty franchise justice
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
After playing CoD4 I was worried about CoD going back to WWII, but I am happy to say that I loved it. This in my opinion is one of the best WWII games out there, with its graphics, coop game play, and Nazi zombies. This game looks like CoD4 does graphic wise. The addition to coop is something that I think should have been added long ago, but it is a lot of fun to play with up to four people. The Nazi zombies took me be surprise when I heard about it but I found it to be a lot of fun. So this is a good addition to the CoD franchise, and should be played by anyone to likes any of these games.

GREAT WWII Game! A+
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is by far one of the best WWII games I’ve played. Be wary now that I’ve only played COD1 and MOH1. So there’s a huge gap I missed.

With that in mind, this was a terrific single player experience. The emotions, the horrors all going wild! Keifer Sutherland and Gary Oldman were awesome voice actors. Graphics is off the charts!

A MUST BUY!

A great multiplayer game!

When I first saw this game was when I friend was playing it and I thought, oh yes it looks cool but I didn’t think it was going to be this much fun. I started playing it the same day I received it, yesterday, and played for most of the day and the next day as well. The game is really good and it looks realistic and the best part where most people can get more fun out of it is playing online of course. Can’t beat the online experience by simply playing the game by yourself or another player. Looking forward to COW ‘Modern Warfare 2′ since it looks pretty tight especially the prestige edition.

My fourteen year old son has the PS3 version of this game and loves it. He and his friends enjoy playing online quite a bit. In fact, it’s almost an everyday ritual.

I’ve played it with him several times. I’m not nearly as good as he is and it is hard for me to react and remember which buttons to push. As a result…I’m usually dead within minutes.

But, with practice, I’m sure I’ll get better. It is still a lot of fun. The graphics are realistic and good–kind of hard to see though, on our little TV. We had to adjust the lightness quite a bit to be able to see well.

Still, this is a fun game and has provided hours of entertainment so far.

AAA for the game/ 0 for the seller
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My son loved this game when I ended up buying it somewhere else.

The seller took my money so fast I didn’t know what hit me.

I never received this game, then after 4 weeks and still no game, I contacted my bank and Amazon.

After another few weeks I got my money back.

Read All reviews before you buy and have a bank that helps you out in bad cases like this!

Juego muy realista basado en cumplir funciones surante la segunda guerramundial. Los graficos parecen de pelicula, los efectos de sonido, la musica y las voces son espectaculares.

No es recomendable para menores. Mientras mas juego COD mas me gusta.

Awesome game

The single player is definately better than Call of Duty 4(and that’s a fact). IMO, Treyarch made COD4′s engine look way better in this game. They added more detail in everything like the water and soldiers. Multiplayer is the same. I like the 7 kill streak and getting the dogs. They’re way better than the chopper cause the dogs run almost everywhere, while the chopper flys around, and usually justs freezes in one spot. All in all, it’s a great game in the CoD franchise.

Great game but frustating multiplayer
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I liked the mission part of this game, but as great as the multiplayer could be,activision screwed it up when they purchased Demonware to oversee their multiplayer,it becomes apparent when more then 20,000 players are on line, not using a dedicted server you as a players suffers through lag,hit dedication, and just plain game connectivity issues, what i mean most times you have to unload an entire clip of ammo into someone to kill them, and all they have to do is shoot you once or twice to kill you, this is a company making millions of dollars between game and map pack sales to afford dedicated servers and they choose the cheap way out with this Demonware peer to peer crap, that said purchase at your own risk, activision does not care about their customers.

Best Video Game Ever Created
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve been playing video games since the late 1970s when “Pong” was all that was available. Throughout the years, I’ve owned many video game systems, including the Atari 2600, Colecovision, Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Playstation, Xbox and now a PS3. I’ve played many different games over the course of those years and nothing, and I mean NOTHING, compares to “Call of Duty: World at War.”

Simply put, it is the best video game ever created, and it keeps getting better. Since it was released in late 2008, Activision has offered several downloadable upgrades that provide additional map areas and additional games. There are so many aspects to this game that it never gets boring. It can be played in a solo mode where the player battles through various WWII battleground sequences as either an American or a Russian, it could be played online in various “versus” modes, and then there is the “Nazi Zombie” modes which lie in their own world apart from the other offerings of this title.

My favorite way to play World at War is online in the “Free For All” mode, which pits up to eight individual players against each other in various WWII scenarios, all fighting for first place by trying to get the most kills.

It is difficult to explain to somebody how great this game really is with words. It is something that needs to be played to understand its neverending greatness.

This is the first game I played in the COD franchise and I instantly loved it. Online is really fun and the experience points and ranks give you something to play for. Buy this one!

Can not put down the controller!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I never used to play Shooter type games. In fact, I HATED them before I actually came across this game at Connecticon 09. I sat down and started to play it. I could NOT put down the controller. I actually sat down and played it for a few hours. It was an amazing game. The controls feel so natural and the how accurate they are with the design of the game amazed me. It was the best game I have ever played ever since the new gen of game systems have come out! I played it on the Xbox 360 at connecticon, and I learned the controls instantly as if I played it before and never have. I loved the game on the 360, and hope its the same on the PS3 as that’s what I own at my house. I got Call of Duty 4, and was disappointed at how quickly I was able to beat it. I played it for a few hours and it was over. I suck on online, so I wont be playing it online that often. I hope this game isn’t as over as quickly as Modern Warfare.

best game ever
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Call of Duty: World at War is the best game i have ever played hands down. No matter how many times i played the campaign it never got old. Nazi Zombie sessions often go for hours with the fun I have. Online multiplayer is the funnest and competitive ranking system. The maps are great and though a bit predictable, it stays fun. Many people told me that COD4 Modern Warfare was better so traded mine in to get it and im sad to say I was disappointed. I was annoyed of the COD 4 story line as soon as I finished it. The lag on the servers was unbearable and I couldn’t look at it. I sold it immediately.

Now I’m going to buy the game again because I still haven’t played a game as fun as this with such replay value. Both modern warfares cant compare with this one even though its WWII. Don’t make a mistake that I did and get and keep this game forever. ITS THE BEST! Sounds, texture, dialog, and imagery makes you feel the war (especially with surround sound :P ). Amazing work.

Good game, but crummy multiplayer
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This game is great in solo and co-op modes. Multi-player, however, is a big disappointment. The cons are too many to ignore. I will elaborate.

1. When trying to join a game, you will sometimes be thrust in the middle of an already existing game. All too often, just in time for the match to end.

2. Some MP games, require you wait 10-12 second delay before joining/re-spawning. For God’s sakes, if you are going to throw me into match that is almost over, why make me wait 12 more seconds to appear? Very annoying.

3. The timing of the game is off sometimes. You can be prone and waiting for another player to come through the door, but inexplicably he will appear and get the first shot?

4. Why make me spend so much time running to get anywhere? The game constantly puts you so far away from an objective, that you spend 60% of your time running to get somewhere. Where is the fun in that?

5. It has really stupid spawning points. In some games you and your squad will be re-spawned in predictable locations over and over again so you can get massacred for most of the game. Not fun.

6. The game will penalize you for exiting early. Why should I be penalized for leaving a game early with a bad connection?

7. The re-spawn delay is a joke. You will often spawn only to get gunned down immediately and then have to wait another 10-12 seconds to re-appear.

8. Booting a player is often abused. I’ve been booted from games for no reason having not killed a single of my team’s other players.

9. Weak guns. How is it that I can shoot guy 4-5 times with a machine gun, but he survives?

10. Artillery barages get old real quick. While pretty realistic looking, it gets old real quick.

I’m not saying that COD is a bad game, it is just that the multi-player is flawed and can be very frustrating.

WWII Alright :( awe again.

I will sum it up for you. This is just another WWII shooter game. It is almost the exact same game as COD Modern Warfare but with WWII skins. WASTE OF MONEY.

Great Game!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve played a lot of FPS games and in my personal opinion the call of duty games, and the battlefield games are by far my favorite. This game in particular though is excellent. I played the whole game with my wife (two player co-op) and it was a blast. The mass multilayer online is a blast as well. For anyone that loves FPS games this is a must have.

No split screen multiplayer support….
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I actually bought this to play split screen LAN, too bad it doesn’t support it. If I wanted to play on a single console over LAN, I would have saved big $$$ and not bought a PS3. Can’t anyone do what HALO did? 4 player split screen multiplayer is loads of fun though, too bad we can’t link up 2 PS3′s and have 8 people for more mayhem. I’m in Iraq, online play is not an option.

Zombies make this game a classic…
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This game was a must buy for me. I have always loved World War 2 FPS. If it has Nazis in it I want to play it. Also I enjoyed COD 4 so I hoped this would be better considering it’s a World War 2 shooter. This game had decent graphics. There are times of brilliance and moments of disappointment. The game is a lot darker than COD 4. I believe this was an attempt to cover some bad textures. The online is in my opinion not as addictive as COD 4. There is though a great game mode Nazi Zombies which added a lot of replay value to this title. There is a better story in this installment, but I still have had no drive to replay the campaign yet.

Presentation- The overall feel of this game is dark. The music is good; the lack of cut scenes hurt the campaign just as with COD 4. 4/5

Graphics- The graphics are not as well done as COD 4. This game has darker levels to try to hide some texture details. This hurts the overall look of the game. The weapons do have some nice detail though. 4.5/5

Story- The story is better done than COD 4, the characters are better developed. The end of the game is really satisfying. Although some cut scenes would have helped. 4/5

Game play- It has basically the same controls as COD 4, and it has no major issues. The guns are well reproduced and even the sniper rifle scopes are reminiscent of the scopes of the time. 4.5/5

Lasting Appeal- This game has a lot of replay value. The online is similar to COD 4, but in my opinion not as good. The campaign doesn’t have a lot of replayability, but Nazi Zombies does. With the map packs that you can purchase zombies adds an additional 200 hours of game play. This mode is very addicting especially with some friends. 5/5

Fun Factor- I had a blast with this title, whether it is online, the campaign, or my personal favorite Nazi Zombies. Zombies has added a lot of joy to my life, and my buddies as we try to formulate the best possible strategy. 5/5

The Verdict- This game may have been forgotten based on its predecessor, but zombies adds a lot of replay value to this title. The campaign is also worth a play through not much more. The online is average not as good as COD 4. Zombies though will make this game a classic in the future. 4.5/5

Great game with something interesting at the end

It’s only natural to try and compare this to COD MW, but really this is just a nice treat to hold us over until COD MW2. This is a great game and worth the money. Very interesting and worth the money.

Good Game, AMAZING NAZI ZOMBIE MODE!!!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
No words can explain how awesome the new Nazi Zombie mode is. I play This mode more than Online And Campaign combined, and for a good reason. If you buy this game, I highly suggest getting the map pack for the sole reason of Zombie Vurruckt, the new Zombie field. If you liked COD4, then COD5 is all the same fun with a BIG plus… NAZI ZOMBIES!!!!!

Alanowski December 6, 2009 at 10:43 pm

A fairly solid shooter.
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This had some good moments, and some solid gameplay, but it felt very much ‘unfinished’ overall. I have been a fan of the series since the first COD and welcome any addition to the franchise, but I was left feeling quite empty after working through this.

The online added some more value to this, but not enough to warrant any more than 3 stars.

Go for COD: Modern Warfare – In my opinion this is a much more accomplished shooter, with greater longevity.
