In a distant realm of sword and sorcery, a great evil had swept across the land. Demons from the underworld and their evil minions poured across the kingdoms of man, until the great cities lay in ruin, and there were naught but a handful of cowering souls remaining. Choose your king, as you alone must travel to the end of the world, build a mighty castle, slay the undead hordes, and convert the people of the land to loyal subjects of your domain… in the Age of Castles! more info

Not bad for a budget game but…..
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I actually purchased this game from a junk bin at Big Lots not the digital download here. But I just wanted to warn buyers that it did not run on my Vista system.

I run Vista 64 so that could be it but it’s only the 2nd piece of software that would not run on my system since I got it 10 months ago; so I gave it to my wife to play on her XP system. She says gameplay is kinda odd but other than that she seems to like the game. I was hoping for a cheap stronghold clone but this is more rpg/adventure style.

You can’t beat the price just be wary if you have Vista it might not work and will not work with Vista 64 bit.

Get the Free Preview not the game

This game costs 7 dollars so it is around the same price as a fallout 3 expansion or a classic game, if you haven’t played it Starcraft and its expansion only cost 20 bucks at best buy and I am sure you can get it for cheaper. The game seems fun for the hour preview, but after that hour there is really nothing to do, this game was made to sucker you into buying it very overpriced 1-2 dollars is the only appropriate price for this game. After the first hour it is mostly just clicking the “next day” button over and over and over and over again. Almost impossible to lose too.

Ok idea, terrible execution
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I generally like games of this type, but this is very poorly done. I downloaded the demo and tried it. After about 1/2 and hour, I had managed to get the hang of it and that 1/2 hour was kinda fun. The trouble is, that is all the fun there is to be had from this. The game doesn’t change at all as the levels progress. It’s just a long succession of slight tweaks to a balance.

Occasionally, your castle is attacked, and this should be an improvement over the monotony. It isn’t. The game is so poorly designed that I had to repeatedly click the “attack” button at least a hundred times to win a simple battle at times. It wasn’t as if it were a hard battle – some of those I didn’t take any losses on. The designers seem not to care.

Don’t waste your time, or your seven bucks.
