Comfortable, ergonomic design, rumble- Fun! Rating:5 out of 5 stars This controller is a fine addition to your gaming rig. It is identical to the one that comes with your PS3 system. I have tried off-brand ones and they feel cheap and kind of flimsy when playing with them. I recommend buying the Sony one because it feels “right”. Sofar we have put hundreds of gaming hours on this controller and have yet to see it misfire once. I also recommend buying the Playstation 3 Energizer Power & Play Charging System. The price for the charger is really cheap and holds 2 of these controllers.
Pros:

>> Wireless controller with the PS3

>> Some wear noted around the L3 and L2 joystick (maybe lube with graphite dust).

I had to go to another store to buy a charging cord. paying this amount of money you would think they would include a charging cord. You get a charger with a phone why not a gaming device. I was very disappointed.

Love the thoughtless wireless and easy charging. Just plug it into your PS3 to charge it! On the 360 you have to buy extra crap to have the controllers rechargeable or just use batteries. Not the PS3. Its smart. And so is this controller.
red controller Rating:5 out of 5 stars The controller is really nice and, personally, red is my favorite color so that is why I chose it in the first place. At 42.99 it was a good deal because the price is locked at 54.99 in stores(+ spending time to get there). Overall, if you are looking for a controller, the red one is pretty cool and definitely worth getting.

Dualshock 3, now with more flavors. Rating:5 out of 5 stars This dualshock is just as good as the original black ones, others claiming these are cheap are plain wrong. It’s heavy, sturdy, and ready for punishment. The 1-4 controller # lights glow through on my red controller very strongly around the plastic, but that’s to be expected from an overpowered LED. I’ve dropped, sat on and played with this thing for 3 months now. All is well. Typical Dualshock, doesn’t disappoint. Never going back to 6-axis ever.
They slept on the red light check out day Rating:4 out of 5 stars These new painted DualShock 3 controllers are better than the black ones, because the paint finish makes them easier to grip. The black plastic ones become slick when your hands sweat while gaming, while the painted ones have a matte finish that adds a little texture. I have a silver one and this red one, both have a nice look.
The problem with the red version is that the indicator light next to the usb plug shines through the casing. With the light and the paint being red, the light gets an intensity boost and it shows through the top of the controller. It’s not a big deal to me, but is surprising coming from Sony as they usually don’t miss details like that. Otherwise this is a great color red, with just a bit of metal flake. Get one of these and spice up your gaming.

A solid controller, but missing the charging cable is a rip off. Rating:3 out of 5 stars This is a great solid little controller however the fact that it does not come with a USB cable to charge it is a rip off. If two of you are playing away all night only one controller can charge at a time which is incredibly annoying as the markup on cables in the store are almost as expensive as the controller.
Including a $0.50 cable is something that should have been done. Very disappointed that they didn’t.
Other than that though the controller feels good in my giant hands and the rumble feature works well. Still getting the hang of the layout as I’ve not touched a PS style controller for several years but does very well.
Excellant except No USB 2.0 Included Rating:5 out of 5 stars Only thing its missing is usb cable 2.0 for re-charging that you have to buy,if you lost original that came with PS3 system ,or can use any other usb 2.0 you saved somewhere. if you have played PS1 ,PS2 and now PS3 .Shape of PS3 controller isn`t changed and sony kept its originality but made a lot of tech. advancement within it to make it perfect for wireless connection with long battery life.Still Retail stores are selling it arround 60 bucks so amazon is way to go to save money.

1. experienced wireless connection got jammed all of sudden (blue tooth or WIFI?)
2. simple power off process without looking a TV. Drain battery power easily if not pay attention
3. experienced lower control buttons did not work properly all of surdden
4. PS3 slim was not good (basic functions)as I expected. HDMI connection is unstable.
*the controller and SP3 slim are good, but still need to focus on basic functions. I tried to keep the controller and SP2 slim, but I returned all. Hoping Xbox360 elite system has solid basic functions.

Solid Controller, My Personal Favorite Controller of All Time Rating:5 out of 5 stars When Sony came into the video game scene many years ago with the PSX aka PSOne, they created one of the best controllers ever made. The shoulder buttons are very comfortable and easy to press within a split second, great for games that require fast reaction time. The four face buttons are spaced perfectly, and the overall design of the controller fits the hand perfectly. Sony hit the bulls-eye with the PSOne dualshock controller, and they transferred this design over to the PS2. The design was still so popular that Sony could not resist transferring it over again. The added benefit of the dualshock controller on the PS3 is no more wires! The controller easily syncs with the console and has a great battery life as well. The controller also comes packaged with a USB cable that you can use to charge the controller with in case of long gaming sessions where the battery may begin to run low. The major reason that I prefer this controller overall the other controllers that have been released is because of the directional pad. The d-pad is perfect on the Sony controllers. It allows for precision and accuracy in every genre of gaming. I was disappointed when Sony launched the PS3 and its controller lacked rumble capability, however, with this new release the dualshock design is back and better than ever.
Forgiving on the hands Rating:5 out of 5 stars I play a lot of FPS games for hours on end. I own the PS3, Xbox 360 & the Wii. Out of all of these systems’ controllers I like the PS3’s Dualshock 3 wireless controller the best. It’s smaller and smoother to the touch which is a lot more forgiving on my hands. My hands tend to hurt after playing FPS games with the Xbox controller because of its larger size and because of the rough texture on the outside of the controller although this is less of an issue if I’m playing games other than shooters because I tend to not grasp the controller so tightly. A great feature of the wireless PS3 controller is that the batteries last a long time in between charges and there’s no need to switch out batteries as they are built into the controller. Also, I tend to beat the hell out of controllers and this controller can take a beating. I have went through several Xbox controllers over the last 2 years because my thumb sits awkwardly on the left analog stick which eventually wears a hole through it after just a few months. Lastly, I own Katamari Forever and having the left and right analogue sticks symmetrical, side-by-side makes the Katamari experience more enjoyable. Playing Katamari on the Xbox isn’t as easy.
PS3 Controller by Sony Rating:5 out of 5 stars Everything you would expect in a controller by Sony. It’s the exact controller that is shipped with the PS3 units.
Although a bit expensive, I would always buy this controller over one made by a different company. Great quality controller, and built for the PS3, the system created by Sony. If you buy a controller by MadCatz or others, you don’t see the same quality that this controller has.
overpriced controller Rating:3 out of 5 stars the PlayStation three controller is a quite good controller, the dual shock works but not near as good as a wired PS2 controller, I have only used it with a couple of games one is resistance the other is MLB 07 the show and the six axis does not seem to work very well, I would have rated it a four star but the price is way too much for this controller it is basically twice as much as a PS2 controller therefore I think it is really a big rip, but what can you do the aftermarket controllers are not as good, the Logitech wireless is a very good controller but not quite as good as the PS3 but it can be bought for much less.

This is a great solid little controller however the fact that it does not come with a USB cable to charge it is a rip off.
