Great controller for normal hands
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I had been searching for a controller similar to the xbox 360 and this the closest that I’ve found. It has no lag, the battery is ok, not great, but the fit for my hands is fantastic. I found that sometimes it’s a pain to have the cord plugged into my PS3 when I’m playing so I put my laptop next to me and plug it into that and it will charge while I play my PS3. Overall I liked it enough to buy 2.

Awesome cheap replacement, but not for little hands
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I bought this product to play around with. Sure it will be useful for people with big hands. But since my hands are smaller, I found that the original PS3 controllers fit my hand better. This is the kind of controller you can MAYBE give to the little ones so they don’t break your real PS3 controller. Again, I bought this to play around with the LED buttons. They can be modded to a different color though it cannot be any brighter. I also changed the USB receiver to a blue LED instead of red. Other than that, its not really mod-able since I cannot find the right powerpoint to power more LED’s.

It has decent rumble features though connecting the controller to your PS3 will be confusing at first. When was the last time someone read instructions to put a disc in the unit? Not as simple as a normal PS3 controller but the build is defiantly strong. Its cool, though I wouldn’t use it everyday

Feels better than the standard ps3 controller in my opinion, but if I were you I would buy the protection plan because I heard a lot of rumors of technical difficulties

Cheap Substitute
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I bought these when they were 12 bucks.

They are horrible! They eat AA batteries like crazy. Most of all they need to stay plugged in 100% of the time if you use the rechargeable battery in the box.

They only should be bought if you have a USB hub or a 4 port PS3 (Each one takes 2 spots (one to charge and one for the 2.4 Mhz Wireless)

I am now going to by some real sony controllers to replace these.

The VIBRATION IS USELESS!

Nyko poor customer service
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Nyko controller for PS3 have a amazing design very sophisticated and attractive

For everything else i do not recommend it, because batteries die in seconds (just after unppluged controller from the USB cord) so this disadvantage turns the Nyko wireless in wire controller

Plus i try to contact them through the nyko website(customer support)several times but they never reply to my messages also i called few time they send me directly to the automatic answering machine where i have to leave my name, phone number, and the reason why i call them…, they never call me back, they never care about it…poor, poor customer service

nice
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Controller works like a charm. Cheap and reliable. Since it’s not a proprietary PS3 controller the analog sticks aren’t extremely sensitive for FPS’s (COD in particular). Other then that, good controller.

Pay extra and get a Sony Dualshock 3
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
At first the controller worked decently and I enjoyed the rumble since this was before the Dualshock 3 came out.

After a couple of months of owning it, the battery pack no longer recharged, so I had to leave the controller hooked up to the ps3 the whole time. This defeated the purpose of the wireless controller and since the usb dongle took up a second port, it was extremely annoying. If you have a ps3 slim, it would occupy all of your usb ports if this problem happened to you.

Also after a couple of months, it very often, disconnected from the usb dongle, so I had to pause my game and press buttons on the controller and the usb dongle to reconnect the device. It often took a very long time and is very inconvenient.

Others might not have this problem but mine had these after a few months. Unless you get the controller on a huge sale (I got mine for $15 on black friday I believe), I would definitely put in the extra money and invest in a Sony branded controller.

Poor quality and longevity
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I bought two of these for Christmas and both have failed significantly since purchase. If I hadn’t bought them from Amazon for the giveaway price of $[...] each I would be highly upset.

The first failed since it was received. It has a misfire of the R1 button where when depressing it usually sets off the triangle button instead. Despite disassembling and generally tinkering with the controller, it remains a 50:50 proposition of what function it does. How many games can you get away with that failure? This relegated its use to only being a battery charger for the second controller.

For the second, it failed after less than five weeks of use. The second one failed by the R1 button totally stop functioning. Again this means it is totally useless.

Between the units high weight, lack of bluetooth, require a USB dongle, no power on from the controller and VERY questionable quality make this controller a bad bet. I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Cheap,Cheap,Cheap!!!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I bought 2 of these controllers as “extras” for the kids to play with. The first one we had a week before the R3 button broke on it. The second one we only had it for 2 days before it broke as my husband was playing TW08. We thought that because the controllers were nice and heavy to hold that it would be able to hold up better than that.

Awesomely lacking
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
as stated before, NOT BLUETOOTH. this is annoying. it comes with the option to run with batteries or with a rechargeable pack. and a rather long puny charge cable. I figured most of that was for pure speculation, as the chargepack lasts something of 30 mins or so. I bought two of these because i liked the design, only one can be rated 3 stars because the battery lasts about an hour or so. save yourself effort, time and hassle and don’t buy these. They have the potential for greatness, but are found lacking.

forces you to abandon old skills
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
if you are trying to use it for FPS games, don’t think about it

there are problems in both the analog (used it with PES 2009 > no precision at all) and sticks (stiff, its hard to move the crosshairs smoothly in COD world at war)

the only good thing is the price ….

not sesitive enough
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
It has good build quality.

But it has a very big FLOW makes it useless: it is not sesitive enough for First Person Shooter etc.

Ex. Trying aiming to the left, if I press R3 a little bit left, the controller is not sensing the move, if I press a little bit harder, I will move to much. I am now totally a loser in COD5

Great Ergonomics… Poor Electronics
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This controller has great ergonomics. I am not a big guy, but I am a grown up. The PS3 controllers are made for kids under 13yrs… If I am playing a racing game that uses both the trigger buttons and the shaped buttons (ala MotorStorm) my fingers are cramped with the stock/six-axis PS3 controller. This Nyko controller is great when it comes to ergonomics. The finish is great, has the rumble (black controller), and PS3 button. Now the bad news: Battery stopped working after a month, so I had to connect it to a USB port while using the controller. Recently, the controller left analog stick stopped working, making it useless. I wish Sony made their controllers with similar ergonomics.

No Rumble
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I bought this controller because it was listed as having Rumble. When I got it it did not have the feature because it’s an older generation model according to NYCO’s website so be careful what you buy.

Good ergonomics / good economics
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I bought two of these models to serve as controllers #2 and #3 for my PS3. Candidly, these are my “go to” controllers – I give the dualshock 6axis to my son. Whereas Sony designed the 6axis for kids and elves, the Zero lets an adult human play a game for an hour and then unclench his/her hands for other uses afterward. The construction is surprisingly sturdy, and the buttons, sticks, and triggers are all snappy. Above all, this is the price I want to pay for a controller.

Notes on the downside: First, the included rechargeable battery has a short life, and for some reason will not recharge consistently from USB. Good thing the controller comes with a super long charge cord. Second, it is not bluetooth, but rather requires a USB connection to the PS3. This doesn’t bug me, but the blinding red glow given off by the USB nub when in use really does for some reason. Third, the left d-pad is cheap, but most games I play don’t require it for action. Lastly, I noticed the sensitivity is not as refined as the 6axis, which means that for games that don’t allow you to crank down sensitivity (e.g. Unreal shooters like Turok) you have to use the 6axis.

If the above bothers me, its because I prefer to play with the Zero. At the right price, make it your #2/3/4. Who knows… it could become your #1.

Nice controller, had no difficulty setting it up, great value for money (if you got it for $[...] like me in thanksgiving sale) :)

Break quickly
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I bought two of these. One of them was the model with vibration and the other without. Both of them lost the ability to recharge their battery packs making them no longer usable as wireless controllers and even when they are wired they still can lose their connection. I emailed Nyko customer service about this and I never received any response. Not only that but the other Nyko product I bought also broke with light use in just 2 months. Stay away from these even if they are on sale for cheap.

This controller is a no-go for any COD players!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I would not purchas this controller for any COD game. Take all the negatives from the reviews above, and add in unrefined, unreliable, and unusable!

Works ok, dont feel recharged
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
It looks cool, feels fine. It recharges weird, once in a while it wont. I kinda had to shove the battery pack on the back of it. Everyone also said the top buttons were wierd. It works ok, just not high end.

A few flaws. Don’t get more than one of these!
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is a great controller, but there are a few things to be aware of. I was so happy with the first one I purchased (especially since Amazon had them on sale for only $[...]), that I bought a second one. This was a mistake, I was never able to get both of them to work at the same time. The wireless signals must have interfered with each other. Using just one was not a problem, though.

At first I thought that the batteries were defective because every time I charged one of them and played, by the next day I had to recharge. But later I realized that the controller was staying on after I stopped playing, therefore draining the battery. My solution is that I have to remove the battery after I’m done playing.

Then when my son was playing, he broke the left stick on one controller, rendering it completely useless. I don’t know if he was applying too much force, but a controller should be strong enough for an eleven-year-old. I don’t let him use the other one, I bought him his own Sixaxis controller.

Those are the cons I found. The pros have already been mentioned. The big size makes it comfortable to hold, more than the Sixaxis (and I have small hands). The long cable makes it easy to charge while playing. Having the option to use AA batteries is also nice if your console is too far away. For some reason, though, this cable and the Sony one are not interchangeable–I was not able to charge the Sixaxis controller with the long cable. I have an Energizer docking station for the controllers, and I could not charge this controller through one of the extra slots (it also doesn’t fit in the main slots).

Apply whatever this costs to buying a real PS3 controller
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
The battery stopped holding a charge after about 6 months of very infrequent use. We can’t even reliably get it to work when plugged in. As a controller I found it comfortable enough but other people complained; the point is now moot.

best PS3 controller PERIOD!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Don’t listen to anything negative about this controller. I set out on a quest to find the best PS3 controller and this is it. The vibration is actually strong. EVERY other PS3 controller is god awful week rumble. It has actual TRIGGERS like a 360. The joy sticks are soft with a concave pad that give excellent precision. Sony just should have sucked it up and made a XBOX 360 clone for their new controller cause the dualshock 3 sucks. I thought there was something wrong with mine because it never vibrated in a game. Turns out the vibration was just so weak I couldn’t feel it. That from a 55 dollar bluetooth controller? UGH! This is as close to a 360 controller as you can get and it is the best PS3 controller you can find on the market today. I know cause I literally bought every single type of PS3 controller that was for sale. Love the PS3, HATE the Dualshock 3, LOVE this controller. Yo Sony? Can you redesign and make one of these for us playstation lovers who like to FEEL their rumble PLEASE! ALSO-WE WANT TRIGGERS MAN-HOW COULD YOU NOT PUT TRIGGERS ON YOUR NEW CONTROLLER! PUT A SECOND ANALOG STICK ON THE PSP FOR CHRIST SAKE WHILE I’M AT IT!
