This Game Simply Has It All.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Opening Statement…

I know a lot of people don’t like this game for the crudeness involved in it. But I think it is a great game with an endless amount of fun. I first purchased this game back when it first came out and played it until I beat it which is a job in itself. I thought the storyline was very cleaver and well thought of.

Graphis…

I think the graphics in this came are amazing in a big scale. I mean when you walk around looking at all the people you very rarely have people in the same area that look the same, I think the buildings the water everything from big to small is amazing. They all look real and have a good glare of realism to them as well. Overall I give the graphics 5/5

Gameplay…

The game play is pretty good. I mean there are endless posabilitis to what you can do with your character. All ranging from the single player to the muliplayer you can do an awful lot with this game, the gameplay is pretty straight forward not moving much from the older games so that is a good thing for people of the franchise. I rate this catagory 5/5

Audio/Sound…

I think this is a little lacking, The sounds of the guns sometimes don’t fire, and sometimes i hear things that just don’t make sense I mean I just can’t put it together. Other then that the sounds of crashes and driving are all very good. I think they did a pretty good job with the whole game overall. I rate this catagory 4/5

Final Thought…

I think this game is a great one to have becase it deals with a lot of diffrent things you can do from single to muliplayer like I stated before. The graphics and audio are good as well. You can sit dowe and play this game for hours on end if you so well pelase to. There are many things ranging one what you can do. There are many weapons as well. This is a good game to have to play by yourself or to play with friends. I rate the game overall as a 4.5 out of 5.

Go out and grab it!

good times with the Belics
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Single player: addictive and fun. you can beat many of the the missions by being slower and sneaky, or just acting the terrorist psycho who is armed to the teeth. Roaming the streets between missions is also a blast. having a cell phone and driving gps in game is the shizz.

online play: fun and addictive. again, anything from you against the world (deatmatch, racing) to missions dependent on teamwork. Wear your bluetooth headset and meet gamers from all over the world. i’ve added several ps network friends while playing online. (and a lot of a-holes that makes it more fun to beat while talking trash back and forth.)

trophies are another way to keep it interesting.

you could spend 6 months playing this game and nothing else easy. The online games have a decent variety to them unlike lots of games where the online play is way repetitive.

Love the series
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have been a fan of the Grand Theft Auto Franchise since its early years on the original Playstation. A lot has changed since then. The game play is exactly like vice city and san andreas aside from a few minor changes/upgrades. I was expecting some diabolical upgrade in graphics from PS2 to PS3 and while they are impressive I cant say I am blown away. Dont let that comment fool you. The game rocks, hence the 5 star rating.

Finally played it on PS3
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Usually I prefer playing the Grand Theft Auto series on my PC, but since I’ve finally jumped into the PS3 arena I decided to finally give it a try. I’ve gotta say it’s impressive so far! Rockstar Games continues with producing a deep story-driven game experience that ranges from the movie-style experience when following the scripted gameplay to the freedom of the open world freeplay of just running around getting into trouble. My only gripe would be the control, or lack of, when driving vehicles. Even though I’m a seasoned video game veteran, I seemed to fishtale a whole lot and had to resort to practically stopping when trying to navigate sharp corners at high speeds. In previous GTA games the driving experience was much more fluid. Other than that, it was a fun gaming extravaganza on par with many action/adventure movies, with the only difference being the player determines the outcome, not some writer. Good job to all who helped this title and hopefully the franchise won’t go stale any time soon!

GTA IV more REALISTIC than EVER
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
The game is more realistic than ever. You can build relationships with the other characters. Date other women and even sleep with them. Compared to San Andreas though its not as fun nor as big. You can’t fly the jets, no jetpacks, bicycle. The game is pretty easy to pass. The online mode was fun at first than got boring after awhile. There are times when no one is on playing a particular game. I wish there were though. Great game to have.

Backward step for the series, but great story
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Pros:

- Extraordinary presentation

- Intriguing story

- Great level of detail

Cons:

- Backstep for the series

- Horrible controls

- Quirky cover system

Gameplay:

The Grand Theft Auto series has had amazing success in the past decade, and this latest installment from Rockstar has had a lot to live up to. As in past Grand Theft Auto titles, the game puts you in control of a character living in Liberty City, a very hostile environment. In the case of Grand Theft Auto IV, you play as Niko Bellic, a man who just moved to America from Eastern Europe looking to live the American dream. The game once again takes place in Liberty City, which this time around is a very well-detailed environment full of obstacles, people and cars. The story itself is very intriguing and features a wide range of characters that make the story quite compelling. Also, a lot of interactions in the game take place on Niko’s cell phone. You’re able to keep in contact with friends and enemies on the cell phone as well as engage in side missions over it as well

Combat is as simple as in previous iterations, but this time around there is a cover system. It’s a very simple cover system which allows for you to duck behind most objects, and also allows you to stand up and shoot from behind the cover or pull up your gun and fire while remaining behind cover at the expense of accuracy. There are also a wide-range of cars to drive in the game as well as motorcycles and boats. Unfortunately, the cover system as well as driving mechanics have some serious quirks which don’t grow on you even with time. In essence, the game has devalued the gameplay itself in trade of a greater physical presentation.

Controls:

Since Grand Theft Auto IV features so many things to do, controls can’t be broken down into 1 category. The movement itself is great, and Niko controls very realistically when moving. Unfortunately, the cover system has some issues, and most of the time makes you feel like it’s more of a magnet system than a cover system. Lots of times the camera angle makes it really hard to fire at the angle you want to which is frustrating. One of the worst things about the game is the driving controls. Rockstar seems to have gone with a more realistic approach which is respectable, but the driving controls aren’t realistic whatsoever. When turning, all cars in the game oversteer and lose control around turns, Also, the camera angle likes to try to be cinematic which in many cases forces you to use the right analog stick when turning to see what is ahead of you. The driving controls are quite frankly unacceptable, and make many missions in the game enraging.

Graphics:

Grand Theft Auto has had a complete makeover which is great to see for veterans of the series. This game quite simply looks great, and both the character models and city are very detailed. Also, during cutscenes, the facial and body animations are top-notch, and really add to the atmosphere of the story. The presentation is also great and the menus are easier to navigate than ever before.

Sound:

As with the previous 3 games, Grand Theft Auto IV has great audio. The voice acting is quite possibly the best to date, with great voice actors and character defining dialogue. As with previous games, there are also over 10 radio stations to listen to in the car when driving. There is a lot more diversity of music in this game than the previous 2, and everyone should be able to find a station that suits them. Sound effects are also spot on and help mold the game into almost a movie-like experience.

Replay Value:

The story mode along is roughly 25 hours in length, but there are also a lot of extra things to do around the city. There are hidden pigeons scattered around the city ready to be found, super jumps, side missions and the simple entertainment of a sandbox environment. Trophies were also patched in shortly after release which is great for PSN trophy collectors. There is also a multi-player experience which has several game modes, but it doesn’t last long. The only real downfall is that the game does grow repetitive very quickly which makes the replay value irrelevant to those who get bored of the game quickly.

Rating:

Story: 9.0

Gameplay: 8.5

Graphics: 9.5

Controls: 8.0

Sound: 9.5

Replay Value: 9.0

Overall: 9.0

Own, Rent, Avoid:

Rent: Grand Theft Auto IV packs a lot of things to do, and a long story mode, but the replay value just isn’t quite there. The game falls short of addicting and after you beat it you will likely never touch it again.

Last Thoughts:

The game could have been a lot better if the controls weren’t they way they are, but with that said, the game is a remarkable feat in sheer quality and quantity.

Notes from a long-time GTA fan
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Many–or should I say HEAPS?–of reviewers have already covered GTA4′s story, features, and gameplay extensively, so I’m just going to talk about a few things that I’ve noticed as a long-time fan of the GTA series.

*The graphics, voice acting, and environmental sounds are all outstanding. This is a bit of a change for GTA. Previous games had good, but not great, graphics.

*The story, in-game music, and radio DJ’s, as most gamers know, have always been an integral part of the GTA experience. Rockstar has maintained its usual high standards in these areas. A great new feature is that each radio station plays its songs in a random order instead of repeating the same sequence ad infinitum.

*Rockstar has changed the default driving controls to match the setup in most racing games, where the accelerator and brakes are on the trigger buttons rather than the X-O-^- buttons. I’m sure a lot of people welcome this change but I prefer the old configuration. Fortunately, Rockstar lets players customize the controls somewhat.

*It’s not as easy to memorize all the streets, shortcuts, and alleys as it used to be. That’s why a lot of the cars have GPS. Get used to using the GPS system in conjunction with the traditional map and radar screens–you’re going to need it!

*Vehicle storage is limited to 2 per safehouse. This is a bummer if you like to collect vehicles and aircraft.

*Having money to spend is more important than ever because “free” weapons and ammo are few and far between. What makes this a bit of a drag is that outside of completing missions, there is really only one (very labor intensive) way to earn cash.

*Perhaps the biggest difference between GTA4 and the rest of the series is that GTA4 keeps the player almost exclusively focused on advancing the storyline. Many of the minigames of the past have been drastically shortened or removed altogether. Hidden Packages are still in the game (as something that needs to be shot to be collected) but there aren’t any incremental rewards for finding them. Overall, there is a lot less reason to throughly explore the entire game map. It’s a pity because the city is incredibly detailed and has lots of nooks and crannies to discover.

Bottom line: a very good game that is just short of being a full knockout. If you have a choice, get the XBox 360 version because, at least at the time of the writing of this review, none of the additional episodes are coming to the PS3.

This is the best game I have ever played in my entire life. I’m completely hooked- my boyfriend bought it for me and I have yet to thank him enough.

This game is a perfect balance of a story-based game and an absorbing challenge.

Couldn’t be happier.

Sweet graphics, BORING GAME!
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
OK, bought this game last week, been playing it……and I gotta admit, the graphics are spectacular (really), I ain’t crazy about this game….WAY TOO MUCH HYPE for a feeble attempt at a game. I’ll take GTA Vice City ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!

The good:

> Awesome graphics

> Cool cars

The bad:

> Cars are impossible to control! (Slam into everything!!!!)

> Hard to see the game (Lighting sucks)

> Extremely boring gameplay

> Camera angles suck

> Fighting & punching SERIOUSLY SUCKS

> Music stations SUCK! (ONE Rock station??????) COME ON!

> Control/Joystick issues

You would think by now, with ALL the technology we have, that video game companies could make the punching & fighting a bit better? COME ON! Is that too much to ask?

The DRIVING! Oh what happened to the driving?!
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I just put this game back in the PS3 after playing it for about 2 weeks after release. I’ve played the entire series and loved it. After completion I’ve always been able to come back to the game and spend hours driving or flying around the cities. Jumping cars, doing ebrake turns, crashing into stuff exc…

The newest installment has aparently gone over the top with “realism” moving to the level of not fun.

I have also owned and have logged countless hours in all of the Gran Turismo games (as in 100% completion in the recent ones). Even if the driving was realistic in that way I would still love GTA. It’s just not. In order to achieve realism they have basically just made all of the cars 80′s porsche 911′s. You THINK about sliding and they spin. You turn to fast and they spin. You hit the breaks and they spin. It’s awful. The bikes behave the same way.

It just takes too much away from the game when almost exclusively I would rather ride in a cab then drive to the destination.

This game is OK!
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This game is OK…not what I expected. I love all the other grand theft auto games. My most favorite was San Andreas and Vice City. In this game (GTA IV)…it’s hard as hell to drive the car. When turning corners, its slids all over the place and even when you brake you still go into the cars. I wouldn’t buy this game for anyone you would be a bit disappointed.

A great free roam title for fans of the genre.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have never been a fan of the GTA series. I was always partial to the Driver franchise. I always liked Driver because it had better graphics. Then GTA 4 came out and based on a lot of good reviews and bought it. All those reviews were right. The graphics were actually very well done to my surprise. The game play was simple and easy to pick up. The realism of this game surprised me the most. You actually have to break to take turns unlike in most other free roam games where you just turn and somehow the car makes it. The story is pretty well done with some interesting choices involved. The game actually has two endings based on your decision.

Presentation- The game does capture New York City very well. There are a lot of people walking around including hookers. The music is based on a radio system where you can change to different stations to hear the music you like. The one complaint I have is that the game is a little dark even during midday. 4/5

Graphics- The graphics look pretty good. The cars show a lot of damage and the people themselves look pretty lifelike. Some of the people could have been modeled a little better, but this world is huge and it is a small complaint. There are also some weird glitches in car damage, but not overly distracting. 4.5/5

Story- The story is pretty well done. It develops nicely over the length of the campaign. Some of the side missions are a little to far fetched, but the core missions are well developed. There is a lot of variety, the use of cut scenes help, and the ability to choose between different actions helps to lead the story in different directions. 4.5/5

Game play- The realistic car steering is a nice touch that adds to the realism. The only main gripe I have is that you have to tap X to run. Why couldn’t they just make it hold the X button instead of tap it? There are a lot of cars to choose from, but the cover system could’ve been done better. I rarely used it. The auto aim is nice, but can be turned off if desired. It would have been nice if there was more customization, but I’m sure they’ll add it into GTA V. The online free roam is a nice touch and has added to the replay value of this title. 4.3/5

Lasting Appeal- This game takes about 30-40 hours to beat. It is an engrossing journey that you must finish. There is a lot of time spent free roaming the city as well. This city is massive and full of secrets. The online adds some fun for you and your buddies to enjoy. 5/5

The Verdict- This game was a surprise to me as someone who was not a fan of its predecessors. I have devoted many hours to this game and I still love running away from the cops and doing jumps with some buddies online. This game does have its drawbacks, but overall it’s a great free roam adventure. 4.5/5

More of the same, just better looking
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I played many hours in Vice City, and a few in Liberty City on PSP. Got burned out on the language and violence so I skipped San Andreas. After getting my PS3, and reading all the reviews on this game I had to try it. It is a beatifully designed, acted, and rendered gaming experience without equal on PS3. It truly feels like a living, breathing big city. The detail is fascinating. However when it comes to gameplay, if you’ve spent a fair amount of time in any of the GTA worlds, the formula gets a little too familiar rather quickly. Lots of killing, cursing, drugs… to the point that you yourself will feel as dirty as the city streets you terrorize after a while. I love the detail in the landscape and urban environment, but I could do without so much of the R rated material. Worth playing, but don’t think it’s all that new.

An INCREDIBLE Game…When Played WITH CHEAT CODES!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I started playing GTA4 after playing Burnout Paradise. For this reason, I quickly tossed it aside because of the horrible vehicle physics early in the game (like Roman’s Taxi). It was so frustrating just to drive a vehicle from point A to B without hitting everything in sight…Fortunately, the driving gets better as you progress through the game. Then after completing a couple of other games I’m glad I came back to GTA4 because the programmers really did put a huge amount of thought and effort into creating one of the BEST OPEN SANDBOX type games I’ve ever played!

I like to try things in games that are, say “unconventional”. Most of the time the hard code prevents you from doing these type things unless they are actually part of the storyline. In GTA4, the interactive environment is so completely OPEN, you can do just about anything you please and get results…And sometimes it’s not what you expected! This kind of gameplay not only improves the gaming experience, but it also extends the life of the purchase — A DOUBLE SHOT of getting the best Bang for your video game Buck!

The first thing you notice after Niko starts doing “jobs” is how quickly the LCPD cops are all over you and they either take you in or do you in, depending on your level of cooperation. Unfortunately, the only way to lose your “Wanted Level” is to outrun the cops…Like I said before, the vehicle physics make this a pretty frustrating exercise, especially after about the 20th time. MY SOLUTION: USE CHEAT CODES.

This is one game where I believe gameplay is actually enhanced by liberal use of basic cheat codes. That way you can focus on following the storyline and completing chapters or just creating general mayhem wherever Liberty City takes you without being outgunned or driving a beaten up vehicle or spending half your time outrunning the LCPD. Cheat codes RULE in GTA4 and once you start using them, you’ll never go back…

The storyline is well integrated with excellent voice talent and very good cut scenes…You’ll always feel like you’re right in the middle of the action in this game and will never be left clueless about what’s going on around you. Just key in the cheat codes and learn your way around the cellphone and Liberty City will be your oyster. Weapons are GREAT…Sound effects and explosions are GREAT…Reactions of pedestrians, other drivers and “victims” are frequently priceless. Niko has more one-liners than James Bond. This is a relatively long game which I imagine is dozens of hours longer without taking advantage of the cheat codes.

FAVORITE CHEAT CODES: 482-555-0100 Restore health, armor & ammo; 486-555-0100 Get a selection of weapons; 486-555-0150 Different selection of weapons; 267-555-0100 Remove wanted level; 468-555-0100 Change weather; 359-555-0100 Spawn an Annihilator; 938-555-0100 Spawn a Jetmax; 625-555-0100 Spawn an NRG-900; 227-555-0100 Spawn an FIB Buffalo; 227-555-0147 Spawn a Turismo. Enter these into your cellphone then use them when needed and you’ll absolutely OWN Liberty City and everyone in it!

Now near the end of the game, there are 2 different paths you can take…You’ll know you’re there when confronted with the “Revenge” or “The Deal” decision. I recommend going to a safehouse and saving the game at this point so you can play it through to the end one way, then come back, reload and play it the other way. (I turned off autosave at this point to prevent an unwanted overwrite.) You can always go to a safehouse and save progress in an open save slot. The 2 endings are similar, but still vary enough to warrant playing both ways.

My favorite “off the beaten path” things to do in GTA4:

1) Drive up to Jimmy Pegorino’s house and go past the pool in the back to the covered deck area with the wooden benches. Use your cheats to load up on health and ammo for the RPG/Rocket Launcher. Then look over the wall to the street below and unload an RPG on an unsuspecting vehicle. The cops/FIB/SWAT start arriving and you just blow their vehicles up with RPGs. Then the LCPD choppers move in and you crouch down and do a little target practice on them. If you get tired of RPGing the choppers, take out the M16 and shoot the gunners out instead. Reload on health & ammo as needed and keep an eye out for FIB and SWAT as they try to flank you by the swimming pool. Stay alive long enough and you’ll actually shoot down ALL of the LCPD choppers…They won’t have any more to send after you! A pretty cool diversion…

2) Pick a park or some other spot with lots of pedestrians and walk around spawning Jetmax after Jetmax right on top of people, then collect their cash…Listen to their reactions when the boats just appear out of nowhere and start dropping on their friends! I did this one night outside of Bernie’s apt on both sides of the street. Then I just ran up one side of the street, crossed over to the other side and some of their money respawned. Then I crossed the street and ran to the other victims and some of their money respawned. I did this repeatedly and money randomly respawned each time! But simply spawning a Jetmax on a helpless pedestrian, a cop car or some guy on a chopper is just good times…

3) Go inside a Cluckin Bell and blow away the order-taker (it’s a BONUS if the employee wearing the chicken head is there…Torch the chicken with a Molitov Cocktail.) Then put your back to the wall facing the front doors. As the cops come in, mow them down with the M16. Refill on health and ammo as needed. Soon, the SWAT team arrives. Once they start coming in, take them down with the M16. When it gets quiet for a moment, use your cheat to Remove Wanted Level…Then stroll outside, go to the SWAT truck and get in. Drive off and Remove Wanted Level. Congratulations! You’re now the proud owner of a SWAT truck! Park it in the YELLOW parking area outside of one of your safehouses and it will stay there unless a cop arrests someone and uses it to take them in, which I actually caught one doing one time!

4) Go to a pedestrian overpass at one of the highways. Climb the fence and jump into the speeding cars below. This will create a HUGE traffic jam (sometimes on both sides of the highway). Reload your health and go back up to the overpass. Shoot RPGs into the vehicles below for some gigantic explosions!

5) Steal a chopper from the heli tours pad. Fly to Liberty Island and just when you’re hovering near her feet, jump out. If done right, you’ll land on a square area just below the statue’s feet. Run around until you find the door that says, “NO HIDDEN CONTENT HERE”. Walk THROUGH the door and climb the ladder. You’ll see a huge beating heart inside that’s held in place by chains…Snap a couple of souvenir photos with the cellphone to show your friends back home!

6) Go to the airport and drive into the cargo loading area. Steal one of the large “push-back” trams (not the smaller luggage train tram) and start cruising around the runway, maybe even driving under a jumbo jet as it taxis on the runway. This is a surprisingly durable vehicle and you can restore it to new condition every time you restore your health with the cheat. The cops, FIB and SWAT will swarm you and they are extremely persistent in the airport’s restricted area. Will they get you or not?

7) Drive up to the Penitentiary. Either steal a vehicle right in front of the guards or just start driving around on the grass where the guards are watching the inmates. Then keep your eyes open…You may see a couple of inmates escaping while the guards start jerking people out of their vehicles and stealing parked vehicles just to PURSUE YOU! This is a laugh riot the first time you experience it…Those guards really, really want you BAD!

8) While cruising the streets of LC, keep an eye out for Money Trucks. They seem to appear in bunches mostly at night. Either run one down and block its path or just block it from leaving a red light. Back off and hit it with an RPG. Immediately Remove Wanted Level then run around the truck picking up all of the $$$ until you get it all or it begins to disappear. Be careful about catching fire or adjacent vehicles catching fire and exploding on you. Also try stealing the Money Truck and driving to an obscure location to RPG it and collect your booty. I’ve blown up as many as 7 consecutive Money Trucks when they appear in large numbers. Good fun!

These are just some of the examples of what I meant by the open sandbox design of this game…Feel like boxing? Walk up to someone on the street and box their ears. Feel like racing? Brucie will hook you up with plenty of racing opps. Feel like flying around Liberty City? Spawn an Annihilator and see the view from above, maybe dropping in behind the walls of the Penitentiary to visit the inmates. And things like this are IN ADDITION TO the primary storyline of the game, which is quite satisfying all by itself!

That’s PRECISELY the edge that sets GTA4 apart from the rest of the pack. It’s also why it DESERVES a 5-star rating. Rockstar Games should be congratulated on the depth and magnitude of this game! It really does stand alone at the top of the heap…WELL DONE!!

Horrible and extremely disappointing for a GTA game
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
This game could have been better, way better, then San Andreas, sadly, due to Microsoft’s extreme cheapness (as usual) they only included a DVD ROM drive in their Xbox 360 console, and without a Blu-Ray drive, 360 games are severely crippled. This game is so crippled it’s not even funny. They’ve removed almost everything that made San Andreas great. You want a tank? Nope, no tanks. Wanna fly around? Yea, you can do that, on your choice of two (YES TWO, in the ENTIRE game) helicopters. No planes, no fun items, no properties to purchase, no land to take over, no customization of any sort (tattoos, clothes, hair, etc), no building up stats, no deserts, no jet packs, far far less weapons (I believe there is a total of 12 in THE ENTIRE GAME), less vehicles, less places to go into, less things to do, a very short storyline (I completed it in exactly one week, it took me about 2 years to finish San Andreas), and far more disappointments await you. Pretty much, game developers have two choices when developing for the 360, a good game with bad graphics or a game with good graphics and horrible gameplay, RockStar chose the latter. I am not trying to be a fanboy, I own a PS3 and there are many things I don’t like about it (particularly the restrictions on sub accounts) but when it comes to a good high definition game, the PS3 is the only way to go. You cannot put an HD game on a DVD, just like you cant put an HD movie on a DVD, it’s time developers stop limiting themselves because of the 360. RockStar screwed up because the PS3 version is just a port of the 360 version. Perhaps next time they’ll wise up and develop GTA V exclusively for the PS3, or perhaps Microsoft will wise up and release a freakin’ Blu-Ray drive add on and stop pretending Blu-Ray isn’t the future.

I give this game 2 stars for the small amount of work RockStar put into it, the graphics are great and the few vehicles in the game are very fun and have awesome crash effects. The multiplayer (especially on PS3, where it’s free) is absolutely wonderful as well.

This is gotta be the one must have game for playstation 3. It basically combines all my games together, driving, shooting, beating up cops, destroying the city… I regret not having this game earlier, would of saved the trouble buying other games and constantly changing disks.

Get the game, you can’t go wrong. I have been playing it for the past week, and it is just so god damn awesome. For less than thirty bucks this is really really cheap… I would honestly pay $150 for this as the only game I will need for ps3.

*I do not recommend this game for minors however. Stuff happens in the game can really affect how you think in real life. Unless you are sure that your kid can control him/herself and know what’s right or wrong, i wouldn’t give them gta4 for xmas. It is rated M for mature for a reason. For me however, all the bad things i day dream about i get to do it in this game, which is freaking awesome!!

hello i have played past GTA games before and i liked them they were fun…… i know comunication is an important part of life and cellphones are great devices to comunicate with other people, having good friends in your life is priceless, this game has both of them that should make this gaming experience great….. but it doesn’t it is very anoying that everytime i am trying to do something the cellphone starts to ring… and it is one of the friends inviting you to play bol or darts or some other time wasting minigame if you say no they won’t be your friends or not as good friends and they won’t do any favors to you, that’s not fun or at least don’t consider it fun, but i think they were trying to be realistic on that one and i guess it’s fine, also all the past GTA games had color(brighter than in this one# again going for the realistic side, i’m not sure if i am the only one who likes to play videogames now and then to get out of the routine of going to work, school, frinds #i like my friends, not nikos friends# etc.. in the game i don’t want to hang out with people i don’t like or can’t understand what they’re saying#thick accents) or roaming through a sad looking city, i stopped playing after the first 20 mins. so great alternate-life-simulator i guess and maybe on GTA 5 they will include the tax forms for the federal income tax and a everyday job to make the game even more real…. just get any other GTA game

also the with the auto aim option the game is easier than typing “hello” why? because you can kill most of the enemies by presing 2 buttons (one to auto aim and the other to fire the gun) you don’t even have to look at the tv….. but hey want some challenge? turn the auto aim off and it is from very hard to impossible to kill the enemies you would think that the bullet of a gun goes in a straight line say if you have an enemy in front of you at a considerable small distance you aim at him and shoot him you could think he will get killed or at least wounded but no or i don’t know if he is wounded there is no indicator….. so that’s it

GTAIV makes PS3 worth owning despite a few dissapointments
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I could review this game in one sentence if i had to: The best balance of graphics, sound, physics, game-play, and depth of setting and character ever.

I have never seen such incredible physics, this game truly generates hilarious random scenes. This is by far the most realistic title in the series, a true departure from the arcade style missions and stats of former GTA games.

Game is not as re-playable as previous titles but the multiplayer makes up for that. Don’t expect too much from the multiplayer but it is def. an exciting look into the future of GTA as an online game.

The single player story will rock your world, and if you liked the previous GTA games even a little bit then this will satisfy you. This game is the reason I bought a PS3.

More realistic – less fun – Where’s the jetpack??
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
It’s a good game generally speaking. However, for those who are glad to see the large forest/field areas gone… I truly miss them. There are few places in GTA4 where you can really open up and jump off cliffs into rivers, or just basically do crazy stuff out in the woods. I think there is one or two places you can even find trees in GTA4. San Andreas was so much fun… so many different areas… city, urban, rural, it was like 4 different games in one. The jetpacks, jet fighters, helicopters, tanks and many other vehicles made this game not only fun but DAMN fun. Oh yeah, and lets not forget about skydiving into military bases to steal jet fighters. When I played GTA4, I felt like I was a bad guy for being a bad guy. I want to feel good about being bad.

The graphics, of course is phenomnal which makes it even more of a shame that a lot of the out of this world stuff are missing.

I bought it, played it, and beat it… so did I like it, yes. Could I have loved it… yes… did I? No.

Possibly the finest gameing achievement so far this generation
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Grand Theft Auto 4 brings the acclaimed top selling video game series to a new level, in technicals, storytelling, and gameplay mechanics. The final package is nothing short of remarkable. It is an gameing experience I certainly won’t forget.

Technically GTA IV isn’t the most mind blowing game this gen, but given the scrope of the Liberty city it’s certainly one of most impressive visual achievements in gaming on the PS3 or any other system outside the PC. The sound is great too, sounding fantastic on 5.1 surround. It simply puts you in another world with such fluidity, really groundbreaking. Must be experienced.

The story is simply one of the best I’ve ever seen in a game, and that includes RPGs. You still get some of the same silliness of previous GTA games, but layered over it is some terrific performances of numerous characters. The cut scenes play like real serious crime dramas and give you plenty of motivation to complete your quests. The story is very multilayed and riveting, dark and sometimes funny, even romantic at times. It’s really great.

Gameplay wise it’s a definate improvement over other GTA games. In particular combat is drastically improvement. If I have one minor complaint about the it’s maybe there are one too many combat centric missions, but they never get boring because the aiming and duck and cover system is so solid. Driving is also improved. I wish there were more customizable options, but in the end playing as Niko, the main character, never gets dull.

A must have for anyone with PS3 or 360.

This game never gets old

This game is one of the funnest games I own on the PS3. I’ve spent countless hours wreaking havoc with friends on the streets of Liberty City. The storyline is engaging and keeps you playing until the end. This game was released 2 years ago and it’s still one of the best.
